Jessica Comfort says he's been missing for two weeks."The night before he went missing, we had a water main break," says Comfort. "With the water shooting up over the roof, we had to get an emergency plumber and back some foliage, and we left the gate open, unfortunately."Comfort says she's been searching for the animal ever since. Signs have been posted around her Santee neighborhood and surrounding areas."The search has been wild and crazy," Comfort said.Lou hasn't shown up yet, but Comfort says she was able to rescue three other animals during her search. The animals included a small turtle, a Reed Foot tortoise that needed medical attention, and a Sulcata Tortoise named Rocky. Rocky will be reunited with his family very soon.Comfort has been working with the San Diego Turtle and Tortoise Society to ensure all of the found animals are safe. "He was particularly liked by the children. They like to run up and touch him, and take photos next to him," said Lawrie.The store mascot turned neighborhood icon vanished Tuesday night. In the surveillance video, a vehicle is seen pulling up just before 10:30 p.m. A man gets out and walks toward statue and pushes it to check the weight. He then walks back toward the truck, before turning around and eventually picking up the statue. VALLEY CENTER (CNS) - The first two homebuilders were named Wednesday for a master-planned community to be built on the site of a former dairy farm in Valley Center.Shea Homes and Beazer Homes will construct some of the 632 planned residences in the 186-acre Park Circle being developed by Touchstone Communities, a San Diego-based real estate investment and land development company.Walnut-based Shea Homes has an office in San Diego. Beazer Homes, based out of Atlanta, has built communities in Fallbrook and Oceanside.The Park Circle community will be the core of Valley Center's South Village and has been in the making for seven years.
