CHICAGO, Ill. – The City of Chicago will soon implement under another stay-at-home advisory as it seeks to slow the spread of the coronavirus.The city’s mayor, Lori Lightfoot, announced Thursday that the advisory will go into effect on Monday, Nov. 16 at 6 a.m.Lightfoot says the advisory will call on the people of Chicago to stay at home unless for essential reasons, stop having guests over – including relatives they don’t live with, avoid non-essential travel, and cancel “traditional” Thanksgiving plans."Residents are advised to only leave home to go to work or school, or for essential needs such as seeking medical care, going to the grocery store or pharmacy, picking up food, or receiving deliveries," the city wrote.The city says the advisory will remain in place for 30 days or until the commissioner of health, Dr. Allison Arwady, determines a change in the guidance is appropriate.The new advisory comes as the city and many parts of the country experience the highest coronavirus case rates since the pandemic began. (KGTV) — Lights, camera, action!Camp Pendleton service members and families were treated to a special visit Wednesday, as actor Mark Wahlberg, known for his support of military members behind the cameras, stopped in to visit.Wahlberg participated in a meet and greet at the base's Pacific View Exchange as part of a tour to visit service members and their families, according to the base.Video posted to Twitter by Camp Pendleton showed the actor mingling with the troops and signing autographs for families. 539

CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo. — Almost three weeks after a fatal crash that sent a golden-doodle running near Pueblo, Colo., a family has him back in their arms.The family, who was visiting from Wichita, Kansas, had been driving along the edge of a mountain west of Pueblo on Aug. 7, when their vehicle slid off the edge and tumbled 600 feet down an incline, according to the Associated Press. The crash killed Jennifer Orr and seriously injured her 21-year-old daughter, Samantha. The 1-year-old family golden-doodle, Bentley, was thrown from the vehicle and ran away from the crash.In the days after the crash, the family created and actively posted on a Facebook page Bring Bentley Home to try to find the dog. When Samantha Orr was released from the hospital, she returned to the crash site to search for Bentley. Her family posted their thanks and pleas for help every few days on the Facebook page.  On Saturday evening, Samantha Orr posted an update she had been waiting for for 19 days.  In the video, she’s tear-eyed and hugging Bentley.“My heart is BURSTING,” she wrote on Facebook. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who shared, liked, handed out flyers, spread the word, or sent kind words, or any of the millions of ways people have shown their kindness since the accident. The world has so many amazing people in it, I am SO unbelievably grateful.”Bentley was found early Saturday after Orr and others returned to the site.  They spotted him and encouraged him to walk over with food and a toy, according to the AP. He was reluctant at first, but Orr said they slowly moved toward each other. CAMPO, Calif. (KGTV) -- Customers of the Campo Group Water System are being advised that the county has issued a drinking water warning after samples found increased levels of nitrates.Sample results found that on September 2, 2020, nitrate levels exceeded the maximum contaminant level for safe drinking water.The group serves a mini mart, gasoline station, and an office, according to the county.Nitrates in drinking water are a health concern for infants less than six-months-old and pregnant women are advised not to consume the water.“Boiling, freezing, filtering, or letting water stand does not reduce the nitrate level,” the county said.The Campo Group Water System is providing bottled water until nitrate levels fall below the maximum contaminant level, the county said. 788

CAMERON PARISH, La. – Hurricane Laura made landfall along the Louisiana coast, specifically near the community of Cameron. Not much information has come out from there, in part because several of the roads that lead down there remain flooded. Highway 27, one of the main roads in and out of the communities of Creole and Cameron, is covered in water.A deputy with the sheriff’s office said they had not been able to return to their station in Cameron. They left Wednesday before the storm.The roads are barely passable there – in order to get to an elevated bridge on 27, drivers need to use a gravel shoulder between the main road and the waterway that runs next to it. About 12 miles from the shore, the road begins to flood.It can be a little deceiving here in coastal Louisiana because the coast is made up of bayous and marshes.Some people have taken it upon themselves to bring their personal boats in an attempt to get to some of those communities along the coast.The sheriff’s office said some people did ride out Hurricane Laura in some of those coastal communities, but communications have been spotty at best. As for the roads, the water will need to recede, before the recovery there can truly begin. 1220
