Congress is currently honoring one of its own — longtime Georgia representative and Civil Rights leader John Lewis.Lewis' body was flown from Alabama to Washington, D.C. on Monday, and is currently lying in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda.Members of the House of Representatives and Senate will have a chance to pay their respects before a public viewing takes place this evening. Among those who paid tribute to Lewis with speeches were Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California. CNN reports that the public viewing will take place outdoors due to the coronavirus pandemic.On Sunday, Lewis' body made a final trip over the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, where half a century ago, he led several marches for voting rights. The first of those marches became known as "Bloody Sunday," as Lewis and other civil rights activists were met with force from state and local police as they crossed the bridge. The marches sparked a national conversation about voting rights for Black people, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was passed a few months later.Following events in Washington, Lewis' body will return to Georgia — the state he represented in Congress for more than 30 years. Customers at Starbucks will have new ways to pay for their drinks and food while still earning stars in their rewards program.The changes to the Starbucks Rewards loyalty program begin Tuesday, September 15.Customers have complained for years about the need to reload their Starbucks card in order to spend money at the coffee giant and earn loyalty stars. In order for customers to earn stars in their loyalty program, customers had to use a Starbucks card or gift card to pay. This forced regular customers to constantly reload their card to ensure there was enough money for their purchases.Starting Tuesday, alternative ways to pay will be allowed and still allow members to earn stars for purchases. Alternative methods include debit/credit cards, cash, and select mobile wallets.However, there’s a catch.Customers paying with their Starbucks card or gift card will earn two loyalty stars per spent, and those paying with alternative methods will earn one star per spent. 990

With many on unemployment losing almost two-thirds of their income now, there will be an even greater need in the city and beyond.“Our network of over 1,000 emergency food providers across 90 percent of the zip codes here in the city are really bracing themselves and making sure they are already bringing in enough resources,” Tisdale added.A study done by Feeding America shows 1 in 6 Americans could now struggle with hunger as a result of the financial hardships caused by the pandemic. CORONADO (KGTV) - Friends gathered to mourn Navy sailor Curtis Adams Saturday night, who was killed while trying to help what he thought was a stranded driver on I-15 last week.His friends told stories on Breakers Beach at Naval Air Station North Island about how he loved cars, was a goofy basketball player and how he always made sure his hair was in place. They said that he was exactly the type of guy to pull over to help somebody in need.They released lighted balloons by candlelight to honor the 21-year-old sailor from New York.Brandon Acuna, 21, was arrested for Adams' murder. He is accused of shooting Adams after Adams stopped to help him on the side of I-15 near I-5.Acuna pled not guilty in his arraignment on Wednesday. He is due back in court on November 9.   803
