BOSTON (AP) — A Boston veterinary hospital got quite a surprise recently when a family brought in their bulldog after he stopped eating.The Angell Animal Medical Center found 19 baby pacifiers in the dog's stomach.It started in April when the Wellesley family noticed that their 3-year-old dog, Mortimer, started getting nauseous before meals. His owner, Emily Shanahan, brought Mortimer to the vet, who prescribed medicine to take care of the issue.But it didn't help and Mortimer eventually stopped eating entirely.Shanahan went to Angell, where they took an X-ray and discovered the pacifiers.Vets think Mortimer had been taking the pacifiers from Shanahan's two children over the course of months.The pacifiers were removed using a medical scope that did not require surgery. Brothers Erik and Lyle Menendez, who were convicted of the 1989 murder of their parents, are together again and housed at the same California state prison.Terry Thornton, spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, said Lyle Menendez was transferred to the Richard J. Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego on February 22 and was moved Wednesday into the same housing unit as Erik Menendez.The move was made after a transfer request from Lyle Menendez. He previously had been held at Mule Creek State Prison in Northern California, Thornton said.The prison board found no reason that the brothers could not be housed together.Lyle Menendez, 50, and Erik Menendez, 47, have been imprisoned since July 1996, after a much-publicized trial. Both men are serving life sentences with no possibility of parole.In the sensational televised trial, the brothers, then teenagers, claimed they killed their parents, Jose and Mary Louise Menendez of Beverly Hills, California, after years of sexual abuse by their father.Prosecutors, however, said the two wanted to get their parents' million fortune.  1143

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The entire force of the Buffalo Police Emergency Response Team has resigned as of Friday afternoon in support of the two officers who were suspended without pay following an incident in Niagara Square on Thursday.The 57 officers have not resigned from the department and will keep their jobs. BOULDER CITY, Nev. – What was supposed to be a routine bike ride turned into deadly crash in Nevada.Thursday morning, a box truck plowed into a group of bicyclists on U.S. 95, killing five of them.At least three other bicyclists were injured. One was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition from the scene south of Boulder City. Another one was transported by ambulance and is in serious condition. The third bicyclist suffered minor injuries.Troopers with Nevada Highway Patrol say the driver of the box truck was not hurt and is cooperating with police. They don’t believe at this time that the driver was impaired.The bicyclists did have a safety car with them at the time of the incident. However, one group of cyclists was in front of the car and the other was behind. It is not known which group was struck.“I don’t even know. It’s just the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life," said former Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer Michael Anderson.He was collecting his thoughts after a horrific day. Five of his fellow bicyclists were killed after that box truck struck their group.“Try to contact their families... I don’t even know how to say it to them,” he said.Anderson says the wind caused part of the group to get behind a safety vehicle to protect themselves when the box truck hit them.
