Three men have been banned from Yellowstone National Park after a park ranger caught them cooking chickens in a hot spring.Back on Friday, Aug. 7, a park ranger was alerted that a group of men with cooking pots were hiking toward's the park's Shoshone Geyser Basin, the East Idaho News reported. Shortly after that, the ranger found two whole chickens in a burlap sack in a hot spring and a cooking pot nearby.According to the Associated Press, when defendant Eric Roberts, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, was asked about what the group was up to, he said they were making dinner.Of West Valley City, Utah, Dallas Roberts and Roberts were ordered to serve two days in jail and pay 0 in fines and fees, and Eric Romriell, of Idaho Falls, paid ,250 in fines and fees, the AP reported.According to the AP, the men are banned from Yellowstone while serving two years of unsupervised probation.As for whose idea it was, Eric Roberts said it was a "joint thing," the AP reported.According to the park's website, the hot springs have "injured or killed more people in Yellowstone than any other natural feature." DOING THINGS DIFFERENTLY Nebraska and Maine are the two states that award their Electoral College votes based off results in individual congressional districts. For instance, in 2008, John McCain and Barack Obama both received Electoral College votes from Nebraska. In Nebraska, two Electoral College votes goes to the statewide winner and one Electoral College vote goes to the winner in each of the state's three congressional districts. A total of five Electoral College votes is at stake. While Trump will again carry the statewide vote and two of the state's congressional districts, it is unclear what will happen in the 2nd Congressional District, which includes Omaha, Nebraska. Three Michigan middle school students were hospitalized Wednesday after they unknowingly consumed Cookie Crisp marijuana edibles, according to Warren police. Police say the eighth graders ate the cereal given to them by a ninth grader. The cereal reportedly contained marijuana oil. The students, who attend Michigan Math and Science Academy on Dequindre, consumed the cereal before school and later complained they were dizzy and lightheaded, according to police.The girls were sent to a nearby hospital. The older student has been detained by police. Police said parents of the victims and the principal were notified.  659

There's an unusually high volume of birds in the state right now, and the Department of Natural Resources says spring migration has come to a halt due to the snow.This stop has forced larger crowds to Wisconsin feeders. The DNR counted nearly 300 at bird feeders near La Crosse. Senior ecologist Don Quintenz at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center has seen a higher volume of birds are at the center. If the weather stays like this, he says, birds could be in trouble. "A lot of dead birds," says Quintenz, "Freezing temperatures for a couple days straight, that could be very hard on a population."Amateur Naturalist Judith Huf has studied ornithology for years and says some birds will make sacrifices while others will make due. But she does help them out by keeping her bird feeder full. "Some of them will do a little reverse migration...It's a little nicer in Illinois. It's not snowing down there and [the birds] can get food...Robins have been coming to eat bird seed out of the feeder. They don't normally eat bird seed, that's not normal behavior for a robin," said Huf. DNR says this weather creates a lose-lose situation for the birds. Since their food is either buried in the snow or frozen solid, especially tree sap or insects, scavenging is difficult.Additionally, the birds can't go elsewhere to find food because the frigid cold is blocking the warm northbound currents. TOKYO (AP) — The U.S. says Americans aboard a quarantined ship will be flown back home on a chartered flight Sunday, but that they will face another two-week quarantine. About 380 Americans are aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which has docked at Yokohama, southwest of Tokyo. So far, 285 people from the ship have tested positive for a new virus. The passengers have been quarantined on the ship since Feb. 5.
