(KGTV) - Two North County bars have voluntarily closed down because of positive COVID tests.Last Friday, Kate Dionisio went to dinner with her husband at Masters Kitchen and Cocktail."We had dinner and one drink, and stayed about an hour," said Dionisio.A week later, Dinoisio, who has an underlying health condition, says the night of celebration has sparked anxiety."Panic. We've been so careful with masks and taking precautions, but this felt out of my control," said Dionisio.On Thursday, on the bar's Facebook page, a message announced a recent positive coronavirus test and a voluntary closure for two weeks to best ensure everyone's "health and safety." The bar's owner says an employee was tested on Monday, with the positive result coming on Wednesday. The next day, the same day of the Masters post on Facebook, there was a similar message put up by Mission Avenue Bar and Grill, just a few blocks away. In this case, two employees tested positive. Their post stressed that safety is "our highest priority." It also promised a sanitization by a professional cleaning company. Their reopening date is to be determined, only after every returning staff member has tested negative. The owner of Masters Kitchen and Cocktail says there is no overlap in staff between the bars, but in their industry in Oceanside, "everyone knows everyone."The two bars are just a handful of local bars and restaurants to disclose positive COVID-19 tests. OMAHA, Nebraska — Omaha resident and Sutton native Elliott Bottorf got a surprise while on a Saturday morning drive in North Central Nebraska. Bottorf and his wife passed a longhorn steer riding in the passenger's side of a sedan on Highway 20 near O'Neill.  A cattle guard replaced the passenger's door and part of the roof was taken off the vehicle for the steer's head to stick out.As of Wednesday, the video, which he posted to Facebook on March 17, had been viewed more than 3.8 million times and shared more than 80,000 times.Some have commented wondering if the steer was real or fake."At first, I wasn't sure if it was alive or not but after reviewing the video you could clearly see that it had some snot coming out of its nose," Bottorf explained. "You could see its eyes blinking."The driver and the steer were on their way to O'Neill to be in the St. Patrick's Day Parade. 922

(KGTV) — Three people were killed on Thursday after an SUV careened off State Route 78 and crashed into a traffic signal pole.A Mitsubishi Outlander was traveling on westbound SR-78 at about 2 p.m. when for unknown reasons it veered off the right side of the freeway near El Camino Real and went down an embankment. The SUV hit a fence and struck a pole at the intersection of Vista Way and Valley Glen Dr., before catching fire, according to CHP public-affairs Officer Mark Latulippe.CHP officers arrived within minutes to find three people trapped inside the vehicle. Latulippe said officers put out the small fire, adding that it appeared all three died on impact and not because of the fire.The driver was the only occupant wearing a seat belt during the collision.The driver was identified as a 43-year-old male from Escondido, the front passenger was identified as a 56-year-old male from Escondido, and the passenger in the left rear of the SUV is a female that is yet to be identified, CHP said.The San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine if impairment was a factor in the crash. 1133

One day after Papa John's CEO John Schnatter claimed that decreased TV viewership in response to NFL player protests over racial inequality was causing a decline in business, Pizza Hut said on Thursday that NFL boycotts have not caused any decline in business. Yum Brands, parent company of Pizza Hut, held an investors' conference call on Thursday and declared same-store sales were up 3 percent.
