SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Albertsons LLC, Safeway Inc., and The Vons Companies, Inc. have agreed to pay at least 0,000 after an investigation by the state Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) over illegal business practices.The investigation stemmed from the grocery stores' "Monopoly" game promotion, in which customers received "Monopoly" coupons toward discounts and potentially prizes. ABC said the violations arose out of sales of alcohol included in the 2018 promotion.The "Monopoly" promotion was held at Albertsons stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, Vons, Pac N Save, and Pavilions locations.The promotion advertised certain beer brands by MillerCoors as part of the game. Customers received additional chances to win prizes if they purchased those brands, according to ABC."This particular violation gave these retailers a competitive advantage by offering consumers a gift or premium for purchasing alcoholic beverage products," ABC Director Jacob Appelsmith said in a release.ABC filed action against nearly 600 stores across California, accusing the companies of violation several regulations. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A stolen cello worth 0,000 has been reunited with its owner. "I was driving home from downtown and I saw it. It was on C and 7th where the mailbox is at and I thought, well this is really weird. And then I got out and I knew what it was right away, so I took it," said Tony Cozano, who found the instrument. The instrument was returned to its owner, John Walz Monday. Walz is the principal cellist for the Los Angeles Opera and has played on more than 1,500 film scores from Titanic to Indiana Jones, even the new Star Wars films. RELATED: Police searching for person who reportedly stole 0,000 cello"I walked in to the house and just burst into tears. It's in perfect shape. There's no damage to it. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego Police Sergeant accused of soliciting sex with a minor was found dead after failing to show up for court Monday. Joseph Ruvido, 49, was absent from his arraignment Monday, forcing a judge to issue a bench warrant and revoking his bail of 0,000. According to police, Ruvido was found dead around 4:25 p.m. as officers conducted a welfare check at his Carmel Valley home. Ruvido was charged Monday with two felony counts of arranging a meeting with a minor with sexual intent and one count of attempted lewd acts on a minor between the ages of 14 and 15.The prosecutor won't provide details citing the ongoing investigation, but says the acts were committed July 6th. Police arrested Ruvido at his home in Carmel Valley on July 26th, two days after getting a Crime Stoppers tip.
