The Broadway League, the trade association that regulates theater performances in New York City, said Monday that all Broadway shows would be canceled through the end of 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.The group says that those who have purchased tickets to shows before Jan. 3, 2021 will automatically receive an email detailing refund and exchange information."Every single member of our community is eager to get back to work sharing stories that inspire our audience through the transformative power of a shared live experience," Thomas Schumacher, the Broadway League's Chairman of the Board, said in a statement released Monday. "The safety of our cast, crew, orchestra and audience is our highest priority and we look forward to returning to our stages only when it’s safe to do so. The family of an Iowa teen killed in a fiery bus crash in western Iowa has filed a lawsuit against the Riverside Community School District.Court documents show the family of 16-year-old Megan Klindt allege the district knew there was a problem with the bus driver but did not adequately address it.The documents claim Klindt had complained to her school principal that she felt unsafe with Donald Hendricks, 74, driving the bus.Klindt and the 74-year-old driver both died when the bus caught fire in Oakland, Iowa, in December. 545

The CDC announced Friday a pilot project intended on decreasing chronic diseases in high-risk communities. The coronavirus pandemic is now starting to cause sporting events in 2021 to become canceled.On Thursday, the NHL announced that it has canceled the 2021 Winter Classic and NHL All-Star Game.The Winter Classic has become the NHL’s signature outdoor event for the last decade, generally played outdoors on New Year’s Day. The game was originally slated to be played between Minnesota and St. Louis in Target Field.The NHL All-Star Game, originally scheduled for Jan. 31, 2020, has been canceled. The COVID-19 death of the speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives has raised fears that other members of one of the world's largest legislatures might have been exposed at their swearing-in ceremony last week. A medical examiner announced the cause of death Thursday of 71-year-old Dick Hinch. Hinch was found dead in his home.He was photographed at the outdoor swearing-in wearing a mask improperly, without it covering both his nose and mouth. Dozens reportedly attended without wearing masks at all. Several Republican lawmakers have tested positive after attending an indoor meeting in late November where many attendees didn't wear masks.
