Officers in New Jersey broke up a large house party in New Jersey with hundreds of people in attendance, authorities said.Police responded to a residence along Mill Pond Road in Jackson following a report of a suspicious incident around 8:30 p.m., according to Jackson Police Department.Officers arrived and spoke with several neighbors who said a house on the street was rented out to a group that was having a large party, causing a disturbance.Police contacted the homeowner, who said he had rented out the residence on Airbnb.The party expanded to about 700 people in attendance, with over 100 vehicles parked in the area, according to police.Officers began clearing the crowd from the residence and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office was contacted and authorized charges against the homeowner and party organizer for violating the state’s executive order in reference to the number of attendees allowed at a gathering.Officers from the Freehold Police Department, Howell Police Department, Lakewood Police Department, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Ocean County Sheriff’s Department, and New Jersey State Police also responded to assist and clear the large crowd from the residence and direct traffic as people left the area, according to authorities.During that time, police also received a call from a resident nearby reporting people who attended the party had broken into their residence and were damaging property.An investigation determined a family member of the caller was at the original party and had invited a large group back to their residence. The group was then dispersed, police said.It took until 1 a.m. for the officers to clear the residences of partygoers and all the vehicles from the neighborhood.The homeowner, later identified as 40-year-old Yaakov Weiss and the party organizers, 23-year-old Patience Guanue and 22-year-old Alicia Hinneh, were issued summonses.Gov. Phil Murphy referenced the party during his daily coronavirus briefing Monday while discussing flare-ups, particularly among young adults who attended recent house parties."You're looking for trouble, you're absolutely looking for trouble, no matter how old you are," he said of people who don't comply with social distancing orders.State Police Superintendent Pat Callahan attributed the large parties to the lack of bars and restaurants open due to the pandemic.“I do think the fact that bars and restaurants are close then create this underground situation, which is certainly not what we want," he said.In a statement, an Airbnb spokesperson said the company is in full contact with the company and is offering their support."We strongly condemn the reported behavior, which represents both a clear violation of Airbnb’s community policies and a particularly serious abuse during this public health crisis," Airbnb said.The listing has since been deactivated and the party organizers have also been removed from the platform, the company said.WPIX's Kristine Garcia first reported this story. 3005

OAKLAND, Tenn. – A dog that recently turned 20 years old is believed to be the oldest living golden retriever in the world.The retriever, named August or “Augie,” lives in Oakland, Tennessee, with her owners, Jennifer and Steve Hetterscheidt.The Hetterscheidts adopted Augie when she was 14 from the Golden Retriever Rescue Southern Nevada, which Jennifer co-founded before retiring and moving to Tennessee.On April 24, the family celebrated Augie’s 20th birthday, a major milestone, because experts say the average golden retriever lives to be about 10 to 12 years old.They went all out for the celebration, giving Augie a special carrot cake and having a banner made to wish her a happy birthday. She was also surrounded by the family’s three other retrievers, whose ages range between 7 and 10.As Augie got older, Jennifer told the Today Show that she did a little research to see what the age was of the oldest golden retriever. She came across the GoldenHeart Golden Retriever Rescue’s website, which said the oldest was believed to be 19 years old. OCEAN BEACH (KGTV) - People in Ocean Beach have hatched a (not-so) secret plan to bring a popular mermaid statue back to town."We’re go-getters. We’re not going to give in. This is going to be a mission," says Claudia Jack, the self-proclaimed leader of Team Mermaid.For three weeks in May and June, a mermaid statue sat atop Ross Rock near Sunset Cliffs. Nicknamed 'Marina', the statue brought tourists and locals to the area to take pictures.For some, it was a nuisance, bringing more traffic and trash. Jack says that's one reason they don't plan to put the mermaid back on the rock."It's my goal to get her repaired and put her somewhere that she'll be appreciated," she says.The mermaid was secretly removed in June by a group calling themselves the Cliffs Crew. For a while, no one knew what had happened to it. Jack says she knows where Marina is located but won't reveal her location."I have not revealed any names or whatever," she says. "It's very hush-hush. But it will come out in the end. In a happy way."Jack has enlisted the help of a few friends and artists to repair some minor damage to Marina. She's also trying to get the entire community involved. Earlier this month, she sent out 300 postcards with a picture of the mermaid on the front. The back simply read "Save the OB Mermaid" and had an email address.She says the response has been overwhelming."What little girl doesn't want to be a mermaid?" she asks.Jack plans to unveil Marina as a statue at the Ocean Beach Holiday Parade in December. After that, she plans to let local businesses bid for the rights to host the statue for a few months at a time. She says the money raised would be used for upkeep.Jack says she already has two local businesses who have expressed interest. After that, she wants to commission a bronze replica that can be a permanent statue near the Ocean Beach Pier.The hope is that Marina can become a local icon like the Cardiff Kook or the Lemon Grove Lemon."She's alive," says Jack. One of the children allegedly held captive by her parents in a California home posted video and photos on secret social media accounts, according to ABC News.ABC News obtained video from a YouTube account that offers short glimpses inside the Turpin family home in Perris. The YouTube account belongs to the 17-year-old Turpin daughter who escaped the house and notified authorities.The girl used an alias on the account, ABC News reported.The YouTube account includes clips of the teen singing songs she says she wrote herself and playing with one of the family's two dogs. (AP) — An infant and her teenage sister found dead at their California home are believed to have been killed by their mother, who left two suicide notes and was unresponsive in a hospital Wednesday, police said.The victims, 4 months and 14 years old, were found Tuesday in Ontario, east of Los Angeles, by their father when he returned home from work.Among the evidence is a "suicide note by the mother indicating that she intended to kill the children and to kill herself," police Sgt.
