SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- An hours-long SWAT standoff involving a domestic violence suspect in Point Loma came to an end Thursday night. Police were called to the 2200 block of Caminito Pescado around 4:45 p.m. after receiving a call from a neighbor. Police say a woman who lives in the home ran to the neighbor’s house reporting that she and her 71-year-old husband got into a fight. Police and SWAT responded and found the man on the second floor balcony of the condo. After trying to get the 71-year-old down from the balcony, police say he ran inside before a gunshot could be heard coming from the home. Neighbor Jenny Taylor spoke with 10News on FaceTime, saying she could see officers lined up with their weapons drawn from her patio. She said she was ready for the worst, "let me move it so we can at least duck down really quick and hit the floor and run inside the house, so we left the screen door open and moved all the chairs out of the way."It was hours before police and SWAT packed up.Authorities later found the man dead inside. According to police, records show authorities had never been previously called to the home. An investigation into the incident is currently underway. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego woman has filed a claim against the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department after she says she was groped by one of their deputies.The complaint by the unidentified "Jane Doe" alleges that Deputy Richard Fischer "rubbed and fondled" her on Aug. 20, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported.It claims Fischer was sent to her home with another deputy about 3 a.m. for a welfare check, but he returned alone an hour later and asked to be let inside."Fischer lied to her and said he needed to use her restroom," the claim states. "Jane Doe let him into her home, but immediately realized the restroom claim was just a ruse to get in the house."It goes on, "Fischer told the woman he thought she was cute, hugged her for 10 seconds without consent and then rubbed his hands down her torso, shoulders, arms, back and buttocks. After the hug, he told her again he thought she was good looking, then hugged her again; the woman resisted more aggressively the second time.The woman has now filed a million claim against the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.In response, the department has placed Deputy Fischer on administrative assignment.The department responded to the claim in part by saying, “…the department holds all of our employees to the highest standards and is in the process of conducting a prompt and thorough investigation into the allegations.”The woman says she has no surveillance video to back up her claim, but thinks the sheriff’s own technology will provide proof of her claim.The woman said when Deputy Fischer came back to her home, he arrived in one of the department’s marked vehicles, vehicles that have GPS monitoring.Among the allegations against the Sheriff's Department are sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment and infliction of emotional distress.Read the department's full statement below: "The Department has received a complaint and claim from a female adult alleging inappropriate hugging by Deputy Fischer.  The employee was immediately moved to an administrative assignment upon notification of the complaint.  The Sheriff's Department does not comment on pending criminal or internal investigations.  However, the department holds all of our employees to the highest standards and is in the process of conducting a prompt and thorough investigation into the allegations." 2372

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An unresponsive man was pulled to shore Wednesday after possibly being swept out to sea by strong waves along Ocean Beach's coast.San Diego Fire-Rescue lifeguards responded to reports of the man not breathing at about 2 p.m. at Dog Beach. Lifeguards on jet skis found the man lodged into the rocks on the jetty, according to SDFD Sgt. Bruce Jamieson. He had reportedly been swept about 75 yards from shore, according to SDFD.Lifeguards performed CPR and rushed the man to a nearby hospital, but did not give an update on his condition.Witnesses said the man, who is approximately 50-years-old and from Nevada, may have been chasing after his dog in the water when he was pulled out to sea.A high surf advisory was issued for San Diego County's coastline from 10 a.m. Wednesday to 10 p.m. Thursday, bringing large sets and the threat of rip currents to the area's shores. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A teen suffered serious injuries after a firework he was holding exploded early Thursday morning.ABC 10News learned the incident happened at around 2 a.m. in the 5500 block of Montezuma Road, near San Diego State University.The 18-year-old male was apparently holding an M80 when it suddenly went off. The teen reportedly lost most of his fingers and suffered an injury to his foot.The teen was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment. Details on his injuries were not immediately released.No other injuries were reported in the incident. 576
