Dozens of children in South Georgia were potentially exposed to COVID-19 at a Christmas celebration last week after it was later discovered that Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus had tested positive for the virus.Long County, Georgia — a county located about an hour west of Savannah — hosted its annual Christmas parade last Thursday which included a tree lighting and a photo opp with Santa. At the time, Santa and Mrs. Claus were not exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. However, two days later, both learned they had tested positive for the virus.Both WSAV-TV and WJCL-TV in Savannah both report that as many as 50 children took their photos with Santa last Thursday. EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) - An El Cajon police officer's encounter with a group spray-painting graffiti ended in remarkable fashion early Wednesday morning.Sgt. Mike Murphy was on patrol around 2 a.m. when he got a radio call reporting people in dark clothing tagging along Heart Drive."Saw three males with dark clothing. Hit them with a spotlight and told them to have a seat, which they all did," said Sgt. Murphy.Two other patrol officers were called to the scene. The three men in their late 20s had spray paint under their nails, with fresh paint on the sidewalk and the wall of a business. Sgt. Murphy decided to take a closer look."I saw messages, not of hate, but of peace and love ... the peace sign and 'BLM.' Just had a discussion. 'You're not trying to say anything mean or hateful. Why did you choose a wall?' I understand the frustration of everything going on. Talked about, if this happened to their house, would they be upset? They apologized, and all agreed the avenue they chose was a wrong one. And they came up with, 'What if we fix this?' I said, 'I'd like to help you with that,'" said Sgt. Murphy.Sgt. Murphy, who says he had enough to make an arrest, decided to let them go and asked them meet at the same location that same evening, where he would help them clean up."Having them arrested, how is that going to help the message they're trying to put out? (KGTV) — Two people have been arrested after several leads from the El Cajon community led deputies to a stolen iron horse in Arizona.The metal sculpture depicting a horse was taken from Double S Tack and Feed in El Cajon on Oct. 2, but wasn't reported until 10 days later, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department. Leads from several community members and businesses were "instrumental" in the investigation by providing surveillance footage, SDSO added.Investigators were eventually led to Arizona, where they say the stolen 300-pound sculpture was taken to a home in Golden Valley, Ariz.Percy Hill, 56, of Golden Valley, Ariz., and Rick Freeman, 62, of Lakeside, were both arrested for theft and booked into detention facilities in their respective areas, SDSO said.Rita Gallant, who owns the business, told 10News she purchased the horse about 15 years ago and that it has become something of a neighborhood icon.She's now coordinating with Arizona Law Enforcement to recover the iron horse. 1027

EL CAJON (CNS) - A man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was shot multiple times, possibly at a two-vehicle traffic crash in El Cajon, a police lieutenant said With details still sketchy, a little after 9:45 p.m. Saturday police received several calls of loud noises in the area of the 1500 block of East Washington Avenue, where officers discovered a man who appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds, said El Cajon police Lt. Walt Miller.Paramedics rushed him to an area hospital and officers also discovered a two-vehicle traffic crash in the same area.Multiple people fled from the crash, Miller said.
