SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman was accused of leaving her dog behind in a hot car in a Mission Valley parking lot while she was shopped Tuesday.The confrontation occurred at Fenton Marketplace in Mission Valley after a man noticed a dog locked in a car and called San Diego County Animal Control. Officers arrived two hours later and measured the temperature of the car, which was reportedly between 80 - 90 degrees.The windows of the vehicle had also been cracked a couple of inches.RELATED: How to save a dog from a hot car (if you're a Californian)When the vehicle's owner returned, the man who reported the situation confronted her. The woman told him she was from Oregon and it's common to leave dogs in the car.Her dog was reportedly fine and not under distress, despite spending two hours in the hot car.In California, it's illegal to leave a dog inside a hot car in dangerous conditions. The law was passed after several instances of dog deaths due to being left in cars on hot days. 1015

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An argument between two women turned violent when one stabbed the other with a box cutter Saturday afternoon in Mt. Hope, San Diego Police said.A 27-year-old woman was taken to the hospital, along with her 16-year-old brother. Her brother was also stabbed when he tried to intervene in the fight and defend his sister. Both are expected to recover from their injuries, police said.The suspect left the area, near 41st Street and Hilltop Drive, driving a white Toyota Solara with a tan roof, according to witnesses. She is described as 38 years old with a heavy build and an afro. Police are looking for the suspect, who goes by Bunny.Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Diego Police. 726

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An anonymous businessman and San Diego Sheriff's deputies delivered some much needed holiday joy ahead of Thanksgiving to families.The Sheriff's department says a local businessman, who wishes to remain anonymous, donated ,000 in cash and ,000 in grocery gift cards to be given to local families in need. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego man was walking downtown to his apartment with a pizza Thanksgiving Day, about to spend the evening alone, when he met a gentleman who asked for a slice.The two sat down, shared the pizza and a conversation. The man who bought the pizza, Broc Costa, said the conversation with the homeless man was enlightening. He learned the man was a veteran trying to get mental health services in California, splitting his time between San Diego and Arizona where his wife and kids live.He said it was too expensive to live or buy a hotel room here so he was on the street. "To be blunt, we're all about one or two paychecks away from being in the same situation," Costa said.So next year he bought 5 pizzas to hand out, the next 20 and the year after that, 20 more.This tradition started 7 years ago.Now Costa's raising money and sending volunteers across the county to deliver pizzas to homeless where they reside."It would be really cool for him to see what he started, because he's just as important in this as I was," Costa said he wishes him the best.This year they're at Petco Park's tailgate parking lot near the pedestrian bridge, in Escondido and Pacific Beach delivering more than 50 pizzas and serving 500 to 1,000, according to Costa. 1304
