SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- SeaWorld San Diego is closed Thursday as a storm moves through the county. The theme park made the announcement Wednesday night after the first round of rain battered the area. Officials with SeaWorld say they plan to reopen the park Friday, Dec. 7. The park closed last Thursday, November 29 also due to the rain. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego State University is alerting students who may have been exposed to meningococcal meningitis.The university says they were notified that a current student has a “probable case of meningococcal meningitis.”The university said in a tweet that it is immediately hosting two clinics for those who attended specific events with the student. The events were the Delta Sigma Phi Formal, held Friday, April 12, from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Spark Encore Event Center; and the Delta Sigma Phi Social Event, which was held Saturday, April 13, from 9:30 p.m. to Midnight, at the organization’s chapter facility. Students who attended the events are urged to attend one of the two clinics that are being offered for free at SDSU. The most common symptoms of meningococcal meningitis are fever, headache and a stiff neck, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego State University officials say two students have tested positive for coronavirus, but that the cases are not connected and the risk to the campus is low.A statement on behalf of the campus said the school confirmed Wednesday the two students had tested positive and that both students live off-campus. The students were tested by the college's Student Health Services.The two cases are not believed to be connected to any reported off-campus gatherings, the school statement said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Small Business Administration Administrator Jovita Carranza visited San Diego to check on America's investment in small businesses."Being here in San Diego and very vibrant market and thousands and thousands of small businesses benefited from the Paycheck Protection Program," Carranza said.One of those businesses is VetPowered and their non-profit Workshops for Warriors, which trains veterans in manufacturing. The company launched in 2008.More than 750 veterans have graduated and 95% of them have been placed in permanent jobs.
