It seems like a new organic tampon company is breaking into the market every day. As far as medical research goes, there's mixed reviews on whether buying organic tampons, pads, and other hygiene products is the right thing to do. However, that hasn't stopped a lot of people from going organic anyways. Customer Jasmin Rosil said, "There is a huge movement for positive period conversation." Rosil is a buyer for the Turnip Truck, and she feels strongly that organic tampons are better."There has been a wide awareness of things like fiberglass in cotton tampons and pads which would otherwise aggravate the vaginal wall, it would actually make your period symptoms worse." Obviously companies dispute those findings, so we reached out to the medical experts at the Obstetrics & Gynecology office here in Nashville. They said they're excited that women now have more options, but so far, there's no medical research to say one way or the other if organic is better for your body. The trend, though, is still running strong.Rosil said after she began using the organic products, her cramps have lessened, and she feels better."A lot of the time we found that an organic options are just going to be a clean, simple, cotton product." While more research needs to be done, it's certainly a trend that's gained a lot of traction in the past few years. 1363
India has successfully launched a mission to soft land a rover on the moon, in a landmark moment for a nation trying to become a space superpower. The country's latest lunar mission, Chandrayaan-2, which means "moon vehicle" in Sanskrit, took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh state at 2:43 p.m., Monday local time (5:13 am ET).The launch was originally scheduled for July 15, but was abruptly called off just 56 minutes before lift-off due to a "technical snag." India is now on the way to becoming the fourth country -- in addition to United States, China and the former Soviet Union -- to make a soft-landing on the lunar surface. The Chandrayaan-2, which weighs 3.8 tons and carries 13 payloads, has three elements -- lunar orbiter, lander and rover, all developed by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).It will travel for two months, before positioning itself in a circular orbit 62 miles (100km) above the moon's surface. From there, the lander -- named Vikram after the pioneer of the Indian space program Vikram Sarabhai -- will separate from the main vessel and gently land on the moon's surface near its South Pole.A robotic rover named Pragyan (meaning "wisdom") will then deploy and spend one lunar day, or 14 Earth days, collecting mineral and chemical samples from the moon's surface for remote scientific analysis.Over the next year, the orbiter will map the lunar surface and study the outer atmosphere of the moon.Kailasavadivoo Sivan, ISRO chairman, said in June that the last 15 minutes of the landing "are going to be the most terrifying moments for us."As well as coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, the launch comes as other space agencies revisit the idea of sending humans to the moon and beyond -- NASA has touted a bold plan to return American astronauts to the moon by 2024.India's space ambitionsThis mission is significant for India -- the country wants to become a major space player and put Indian astronauts in space by 2022."India wants to show, especially since Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi came into office, that India is a major power, and that India has to be treated as a major Indo-Pacific power," said Rajeswari Pillai Rajagopalan, head of the nuclear and space policy initiative at the Observer Research Foundation.Chandrayaan-1, India's maiden lunar mission, discovered water molecules on the surface of the moon. As part of that mission, an impact probe crashed into the moon's south polar region in a controlled landing.India's attempted soft-landing is a far greater technical challenge than the controlled crash of Chandrayaan-1.The two Chandrayaan missions are a precursor to Chandrayaan-3, which is scheduled to make a return mission to the moon in 2023-2024.In 2014, India became the first Asian nation to reach the Red Planet, when it put the Mangalyaan probe into orbit around Mars. The Mars Orbiter Mission famously cost million -- less than the 0 million than Hollywood spent making space thriller "Gravity."In 2017, India 3072

In the 102 years Alan Tripp has been alive, music has been through a number of revolutions. Born more than three decades before the advent of rock 'n roll, Tripp grew up an era when swing music was king. Joining with his 88-year-old friend Marvin Weisbord, Tripp has just released his first album. The lyrics to his songs came from poems written by Tripp. On his website, Tripp says the music is 40s era music with lyrics written for the 2020s. A point was made that new music has not been released in a long time for those who are now seniors.According to 568
It’s a call you hope your child never has to make, but one day they may have to. Can your child make a 911 call on a smartphone?WTMJ television station in Wisconsin asked parents in the Milwaukee area that very question.“She can go on Netflix and YouTube. Not to call 911, but she knows other things, so that would be something that I could look into doing,” said Mareza Landeros, who has a 2-year-old daughter.“I think kids should know that. I’m not sure if his age would be right because he might just call it just because,” said another mother of a toddler, Jaimie Hull.Kinnyetta Patterson with Milwaukee County’s Office of Emergency Management shows us how simple it is to make an emergency call on a smartphone. You don’t have to know a phone’s passcode.Demonstrating with an iPhone first, Patterson pressed the home button twice. At the bottom left of the screen, the word, “Emergency” pops up. Hit that, she said, and hit it once again to make a call to 911. She showed us with an Android, and for that you need to swipe the screen.Once patched through to the call center, Patterson explained technology only helps pinpoint a broad area. Dispatchers need your address, something parents need to teach their kids.“If you ever have to call 911, it's okay, talk to them, give them your address, give them your name,” said Patterson.Do you think there's a good age where you should be teaching children how to call 911?” Consumer Investigator Kristin Byrne asked Patterson.“I think it all depends on the child. We started with my daughter at two. Some people think two is too young but a 2-year-old can make a phone call,” Patterson said. 1653
