CINCINNATI — Ohio State Representative John Becker, R-Clermont County, has announced that he has filed articles of impeachment against Gov. Mike DeWine.Becker, who represents the suburbs outside of Cincinnati, drafted the articles back in August to “restore the rule of law” back to the state.On Monday, 12 articles of impeachment were issued by him, along with Reps. Candice Keller, Nino Vitale, and Paul Zeltwanger.All of the representatives that filed the articles were Republicans, just like DeWine.The articles allege DeWine has abused his power as governor and has violated both the Ohio and U.S. Constitutions as well as Ohio Revised Code in issuing COVID-19 health ordinances.“Rather than hearing the cries of Ohioans, Gov. DeWine continues to stifle those cries by finding more inventive ways to use masks to muffle the voices of the people,” Becker said. “He continues to have callous disregard for the fact that his isolation policies have led to a shockingly high number of suicides, alarming rates of drug abuse, persistently high unemployment, and the forced abandonment of the elderly by their loved ones.” 1129

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A suspect was arrested in the shooting death of a 24-year-old man in Chula Vista, police announced Tuesday.On May 15, Chula Vista police were called to the 200 block of G Street in response to reports of gunfire in the area. Upon officers’ arrival, Fredrick Wood was found on the ground with gunshot wounds.Wood was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.Through their investigation, police learned Wood was “shot inside a nearby residence belonging to Enrique Delgado. The victim then ran into the street after being shot, where he collapsed.”Police said Delgado was nowhere to be found.According to police, investigators tracked down Delgado on June 11 at a motorhome in San Diego. Police said Delgado “admitted to shooting Mr. Wood during a dispute, refused to surrender and stated he was armed with a firearm.”A SWAT team was called to the scene as Delgado barricaded himself in the motorhome. He eventually surrendered without incident.Police reported “several firearms and a large quantity of narcotics were also located inside Delgado’s motorhome at the time of arrest.”Delgado was booked into jail and faces charges of murder, possession of narcotics for sale, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, illegal possession of an assault weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm and having a concealed weapon in a vehicle. 1468

CHULA VISTA (KGTV) - A DUI/Driver's License checkpoint at one of Chula Vista's busiest intersections led to three arrests, police said.The Chula Vista Police Department said officers screened 751 vehicles at the checkpoint which was was conducted between 7 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Palomar Street.Police said the three drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. In addition to the three arrests, police impounded nine vehicles and issued 21 citations for people driving without licenses or on suspended licenses. No other details were released.A total of 51 citations were issued for "various vehicle code violations," according to police."DUI/Drivers License checkpoints have been shown to lower DUI deaths and injuries. A major component of these checkpoints are the deterrent effects it has on those who might drive drunk or drugged impaired, bringing about more awareness and encouraging everyone to use sober designated drivers," the Chula Vista Police Department said in a release.More than 1,300 cars traveled through the checkpoint, police said.The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration."The Chula Vista PD will be conducting additional DUI/Drivers License Checkpoints through out the remainder of the year in our ongoing commitment to lowering deaths and injuries upon our streets and highways," police said. 1505

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A carjacking and pursuit led to a deadly officer-involved shooting in Chula Vista Monday evening.According to Chula Vista police, the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. on the 900 block of Rutgers Avenue.Police say the incident began when officers spotted a suspect wanted for attempted murder and observed him as he carjacked a blue pickup truck at gunpoint near Main Street and Maxwell Road.The suspect, later identified as 33-year-old David Angulo, was a documented gang member wanted in connection with three shootings in the area and was considered a danger to the community by police.According to police, officers tried to conduct a traffic stop, but instead the suspect led officers on a chase into eastern Chula Vista. On Rutgers Avenue at Otay Lakes Road, the pickup truck crashed into a vehicle with a person inside. That individual was taken to the hospital with injuries believed to be serious.Following the crash, police say the suspect got out of the wreckage and tried to enter a house with a family inside. At some point, gunfire was exchanged between the suspect and officers. "It appears Mr. Angulo turned back to the officers. It's my understanding he pointed a weapon at the officers," Chula Vista police Lt. Dan Peak said. "It does appear some shots were fired at the officers and the officers returned fire."Peak added they're still investigating who fired the first shot.Chula Vista police say three officers fired their weapons, fatally injuring the suspect. Peak says medical aid was given to the suspect, but he died at the scene.The officers involved in the shooting haven't been identified at this time. They just made up stuff and made a balance."Martinez said she was sitting next to Superintendent Karen Janney when the multimillion-dollar deficit was discovered. "She said, hey it's the business system. It's old, huh? Just making up stuff. I've heard about six different versions of the truth and none of them have been truthful."The former Chief Financial Officer Karen Michel would not participate in the audit. The team also could not make contact with Doug Martens, the director of fiscal services.With the release of the FCMAT report, it will be up to the District Attorney, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and State Controller to determine if fraud did in fact occur within the Sweetwater District.The district was given 15 days to respond to the audit's findings with its "proposed action."One teacher in the district, who did not want to be identified, said the audit's findings were sad, but not surprising. "Hopefully, the positive that can come out of this is that we become more transparent and have more oversight and this will never happen again," the teacher said. On Tueday, SUHSD spokesman Manny Rubio provided this statement to 10News on behalf of the district: "The Sweetwater Union High School District is currently reviewing the report from FCMAT and its findings and recommendations. The District takes this report very seriously and will be determining next steps. Given that this matter is still pending, we will refrain from any additional comment at this time."The District Attorney's office said they are reviewing the audit.
