VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's Department is asking for help locating a missing man in the North County.Deonicio Sebastian, 67, was last seen Monday at his home on W. Indian Rock Rd. in Vista. SDSO says Sebastian left his home on foot sometime Monday, taking his wallet but leaving his cellphone.Sebastian's family has not had any contact with him since.He's described as a Hispanic man, about 5-foot 4-inches tall, and weighing about 200 pounds. He has a receding hairline and dark brown complexion. His family also says he cannot read or write.Sebastian walks with a limp and requires medication every six hours for health issues, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and asthma. He also has a pacemaker.SDSO said Sebastian commonly walks, or rides the bus or train to various places to run errands, buy food, and go to medical appointments. (KGTV) - President Trump's endorsement Thursday to raise the minimum purchase age for assault rifles from 18 to 21 is sparking local debate.Christa Farmer, 19, has been cleaning and taking care of guns since she was 11.  Farmer bought an AR-15 when she was 18, which she uses for shooting competitions.  It's a gun Farmer is comfortable with, and she says the purchase age should stay at 18."At 18, I knew how to properly disassemble, assemble, clean, and the proper safety rules," said Farmer.Anti-gun-violence advocates like Ron Marcus want such rifles banned nationwide, but say raising the purchase age is a good step.    "The maturity range between 18 and 21, there's a lot of room for growth.  To allow that maturation process before they buy a gun is a good idea," said Marcus, Director of Public Outreach for San Diegans for Gun Violence Prevention.Farmer counters with a different maturity argument.  She says she was 'mature enough' to enlist in the Army Reserve several years ago. "If we're old enough to enlist and carry these weapons, I believe we are mature and responsible enough to own them in our personal lives as well," said Farmer.Others say the two situations are different when it comes to owning AR-15s."In the military, you are subject to extreme discipline and oversight ... VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — A Vista bike shop owner is fed up after his shop was broken into for the third time in six months.Early Sunday morning, Jesse McCormack got a call from his security company. The person on the phone notified him that thieves had gotten into his shop, 211 Bikes, again.“I woke up in an immediate panic,” McCormack said.This month, he was supposed to be celebrating his one year anniversary at the location. Instead, he is filing yet another police report.The surveillance video shows a man wearing a hoodie and shorts ransacking the shop, snipping cable locks, and running out.The man captured on the security video took a 2017 MASI Volare worth ,199, a MASI Vivo Uno worth ,999, a Haro Shredder 12" worth 0, a rack of sunglasses worth ,000, and several important files.The first time 211 Bikes was the target of a crime was last October, just six months after opening. No one was arrested for the crime. “It was a wake-up call,” McCormack recalled.The second break-in was on December 10, 2017. Five rare road bikes, along with other equipment, were stolen. “There’s some nights that I don’t really want to go home,” McCormack sighed. “I just feel like I need to stay the night here, and just keep an eye on things.”In the last six months, McCormack has lost at least ,000. He and his landlord have put up new security cameras, LED lights, locked up the bikes, even changed the dead bolts.When one of the stolen bikes was listed on online sale app, he even worked with detectives to arrest the seller. But the thefts continued.McCormack recently got a call from another bike shop owner. They sent McCormack a photo of a man, riding a rare and expensive road bike in San Marcos —The exact one that was stolen from his shop in December.He immediately noticed that the leg tattoo on this rider was very similar, if not a match, to the tattoos on the man captured on Sunday morning’s surveillance video.“He matches the description I have of the prior incident,” McCormack said.This could be a break, he said, hoping that somebody recognizes the man, and turns him into the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.“Action needs to be taken,” McCormack said. “We need to have the ability to feel safe, in order to conduct business, especially as a small and vulnerable business owner, who is operating on a shoe string budget."McCormack is now working with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, asking for increased patrols in the area.He thought about changing locations. VISTA (CNS) — A man who beat his mother to death with a claw hammer in their Escondido apartment last year was sentenced Wednesday to 26 years to life in state prison.David Noel McGee Jr., 26, was convicted in May of first-degree murder for killing 55-year-old Rebecca "Becky" Apodaca.Deputy District Attorney Keith Watanabe said Apodaca failed to log in for her at-home medical billing job on Feb. 1, 2017, and failed to respond to messages left by her supervisor, family and friends. Apodaca's adult daughter went by the victim's apartment on North Hickory Street about 6:30 p.m. and found her mother unconscious on her blood-soaked bed.RELATED: Son accused of killing mom with claw hammerThe defendant -- naked and covered in blood -- was found hiding in a closet. He had self-inflicted knife wounds on his wrists and forearms and a self-inflicted knife wound across his neck, Watanabe said.
