A family celebrating a birthday in the Wisconsin Dells ended up with bed bug bites for souvenirs.When Aisha Carr and the group of young girls checked into the resort they had big expectations. They wanted to have some fun, but they also wanted some clean comforters and not to be eaten alive by bedbugs.They woke up to the bites Saturday morning at the Baker’s Sunset Bay Resort."I started feeling around and I just so happened to scratch my arm and I felt like lines of bites," Carr said.Photos show Carr and some of the girls swelling up everywhere, covered in ugly red bedbug bites. The front desk was then immediately called."Our trip was pretty much ruined from that point,” Carr said, “It's just disheartening and upsetting. It was very humiliating."Scripps station WTMJ in Milwaukee reached out to the resort and an employee confirmed the bedbug case over the phone, saying Carr was provided compensation for her stay.She said they have an extremely clean resort, but with people coming and going all the time they believe someone brought them in.Carr said after going there for the past 12 years that may have been her last trip."Just all around a bad experience," she said. "It's no excuse for it, it's a zero tolerance."The employee at the resort added that a professional pest control company came to the resort Monday to treat the room. Carr said she has been using over the county allergy medicine to treat the bites.The creepy crawlers can be hard to spot and it's best to find the problem early. The EPA has some tips on what to look for. First, look for rusty or red-colored stains on bed sheets or mattresses. Secondly, the bugs also like to hide in seams of furniture and appliances so check there.WTMJ also reached out to the Sauk County Health Department and they said there have been no complaints relating to this resort since 2009.  1898

Her husband first noticed it while mowing the lawn days ago, and she is still at a loss with what to do next. Stacey Rutherford can barely uncover her mouth long enough to describe the stench of a dead alligator in the canal on her property. "It’s gross. It’s gross I just want it gone," she said. "You can't make it up!"Rutherford called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for help and she said they told her to "climb in there and poke it with a stick!"The recommendation to sink it actually stunned her."Ummmmm I told them that I would not be poking it," she said. FWC said every circumstance is different, but officers don't come to pick up decomposing carcasses. Adding that the alligator nuisance hotline will give suggestions on how to let the gas out of the gator, but ultimately, it's the homeowner's responsibility to do that. The other option...simply wait it out. Rutherford said she asked FWC if she could shoot it instead of going in the water. "If she were to shoot it, that's like poking a hole into the belly, which may help release the gases and let it sink,  but she would have to consult with law enforcement to make sure she is not breaking any laws getting into trouble," said wildlife expert David Hitzig Neighbors said the stench is unbearable. "You forget and then you get that big strong whiff," said Raymond Velloza, who lives across the street from where the gator is.  Rutherford says bottom line she can't take the smell any more. "I’m begging for somebody to help. I mean, I’ve called everybody," she said. "Nature should take it’s course in somebody else’s backyard, not mine."Options are limited in this type of situation. A global research team of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, using spectroscopes, have found hydrogen sulfide in the clouds or Uranus, NASA said on Tuesday. What is special about hydrogen sulfide is it is a common chemical on Earth humans like to avoid. Hydrogen sulfide is the same gas that rotten eggs emit. Yes, Uranus smells like rotten eggs. The presence of hydrogen sulfide has long been suspected on Uranus. NASA’s Voyager 2, which passed by the planet decades ago, detected the gas. But using Earth-based satellites, NASA has been able to confirm the presence of the gas. NASA said that finding hydrogen sulfide on Uranus is a striking difference compared to the other gas planets. Jupiter and Saturn have had ammonia detected in the clouds, but not hydrogen sulfide. “We’ve strongly suspected that hydrogen sulfide gas was influencing the millimeter and radio spectrum of Uranus for some time, but we were unable to attribute the absorption needed to identify it positively. Now, that part of the puzzle is falling into place as well,” Glenn Orton of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory said. If there is one bit of good news, scientists said: It would be impossible for the hydrogen sulfide to overtake humans. "Suffocation and exposure in the negative 200 degrees Celsius [392 degrees Fahrenheit] atmosphere made of mostly hydrogen, helium and methane would take its toll long before the smell," said lead author Patrick Irwin of the University of Oxford, U.K.    1582
