"Your servicer will contact you ahead of time to remind you that you will need to start making payments again. Make sure your contact information is up to date in your loan servicer account profile."So what exactly does it mean for you once the forbearance ends?It means borrowers will start getting billed sometime in January, and if you're in default, you'll be subject to wage garnishments, tax refund seizures, and offsets of Social Security benefits.If you think you won't be able to start repaying your loans, you have options.According to Nerd Wallet, if you can't pay the monthly payments, you can apply for an income-driven repayment plan to avoid default.Another option that could help is to pause payments through forbearance or an unemployment deferment, Nerd Wallet stated.This would halt your costs, but you'd be accruing interest during the pause. Big league players will still hear the roar of the crowd even though the stands will be empty when the baseball season opens next week.Taking a cue from two European soccer leagues, Major League Baseball will play crowd noise from its official video game through ballpark sound systems during games. Stadium sound engineers will have access to around 75 different effects and reactions, according to MLB, which has provided teams with crowd sounds captured from “MLB The Show.”San Diego Studios, a branch of Sony Interactive Entertainment, compiled the noise during games over several seasons.Clubs started using the sounds during summer camp games and will be able to test them further during exhibition games.“There was some reticence when you first talk about crowd noise in an empty ballpark because you don’t want to do something that is distracting,” said Chris Marinak, who is MLB’s Executive Vice President for strategy, technology, and innovation. “It is heard in a way that is natural with the play of the game and on field. The sounds do match what is happening.”England’s Premier League and Spain’s La Liga were the first to return to action with crowd sound from video games. The leagues enlisted EA Sports to provide crowd effects they engineered for the FIFA video game franchise. BROADVIEW, Ill. – As the debate continues over whether it will be safe to return to school in the fall, some students are trying to stay engaged during the summer. For students with special needs, it can be especially challenging. Learning new life skills is about overcoming those challenges.From inside her home, special education teacher Rebecca Josefek begins her classes with meditation each morning.“We try to find one that would energize us and get us started for the day. But it's important for them to center to focus,” said Josefek.For the last six summers, the special education teacher at Proviso East High School has worked on an extended year program for high school students with special needs.“We prepare these kids for a productive life after high school,” said Josefek.Normally, the summer class is hands on, focused on life-skill building like cooking and gardening.Josefek says in-person instruction is critical to these students' development.But this year, like so many things, it’s almost completely online. For the nearly 7 million students with special needs, it can be especially harrowing.“It's scary and it's hard with the kids, because we've lost some kids, like they don't want to be on or they're on and they just don't want to be present, like they're just in the background,” said Josefek.Kamron Bell, a 15-year-old sophomore at Proviso West High School, has Down syndrome. Though this year the summer program has required adjustment, he’s taken the virtual learning in stride.“I like it,” he said with a smile.For Kamron’s mother, Alison Bell, not having the in-person instruction means she has to take on a more active role.“Kam had an aide who had a one-on-one aid when he was in school, so I took the place of the aid. I think it just kind of sitting next to him and making sure that he stayed on task and that they could understand him,” said the mother.No one knows what the long-term impact of distance learning will be on these students. Josefek says it’s been a tough journey already.“It's a challenge and I think they're missing a lot. So, they like their social interaction with each other and with us as teachers,” she said.Educators say there will likely be significant regression – a phenomenon known as the “summer slide.” And the longer students are away from traditional classrooms – the more pronounced that regression could become.It’s one reason Josefek hopes remote learning will be long gone by next summer.“I hope but we will continue this summer program whether we're online or we are in person because it's definitely a needed program for these students.” 2620

BERLIN (AP) — German pharma giant Bayer says it’s paying up to .9 billion to settle a lawsuit over subsidiary Monsanto’s weedkiller Roundup.Monsanto has faced numerous lawsuits over claims it causes cancer.In a statement Wednesday, Bayer said it was also paying up .22 billion to settle two further cases, one involving PCB in water.The Leverkusen, Germany-based company said the Roundup settlement would “bring closure to approximately 75%” of the current 125,000 filed and unfiled claims.The company said the settlement also puts a mechanism in place to resolve potential future claims efficiently.It said the agreement is subject to approval by Judge Vince Chhabria of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.“First and foremost, the Roundup settlement is the right action at the right time for Bayer to bring a long period of uncertainty to an end,” said Werner Baumann, Chief Executive Officer of Bayer. “It resolves most current claims and puts in place a clear mechanism to manage risks of potential future litigation. It is financially reasonable when viewed against the significant financial risks of continued, multi-year litigation and the related impacts to our reputation and to our business. BARRON COUNTY, Wis. - CNN has obtained the dispatch log for the 911 call placed from the home of missing teen Jayme Closs’s parents, James Closs, 56, and Denise Closs, 46, in Barron County, Wisconsin.During a 911 call shortly before 1 a.m. Monday, the dispatcher heard a disturbance in the background. No one spoke directly to the dispatcher.
