A nationwide onion recall this summer is hitting meal prep kits. HelloFresh is urging customers to throw away onions from certain meals recently shipped out.The meal prep home delivery company says they were informed by one of their suppliers it is voluntarily recalling onions because of a potential presence of salmonella bacteria.Thomson International, Inc., based in California, issued a recall of all onions distributed after May 1 because of potential contamination with salmonella bacteria. They are a large supplier of onions, and the recall has impacted grocery stores and restaurants in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Canada.All onions received between May 8 and July 31 should be discarded. In addition, HelloFresh recommends customers use extra caution in disinfecting and sanitizing surfaces or containers that may have come into contact with onions in their meal prep kits during this time period.For a list of impacted products, see the list of product codes below provided by HelloFresh. A trainer in Florida is back home with his family after hiking the Appalachian Trail to raise awareness for Parkinson’s disease.“I’ve finally done it,” said Ryan Beck, in his final video.It took Beck 160 days, 2,193 miles and 14 states.“It was definitely an adventure,” he said.Raising awareness for Parkinson’s disease has been a life goal for Beck.He trains people diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in his Rock Steady boxing class. One of his clients is his grandfather.“These people need to get moving. One of the first things they do is sit back and they are not exercising, they are not pushing themselves, and this kind of program really encourages that,” said Beck.Beck helps train up to 100 people living with Parkinson’s disease each week.“My granddad was my second client and my longest-running client now,” said Beck.Beck had spent most of his adult life in a completely different profession but says it was his grandfather Bill who inspired him to start helping others.“He got this diagnosis when I was 8 years old so I grew up with it. I didn’t really know how hard he was struggling, I mean it’s just my granddad right? It just made me respect my idol, my hero, that much more,” said Ryan Beck.“I didn’t expect him to do all this. I didn’t expect him to jump in and get so involved. It’s just exciting to watch other people get the same results,” said Bill Beck.Beck’s hike was supposed to involve others dealing with the disease. They had to cancel due to COVID-19 concerns.“I was forced to keep my head down and continue my journey and spread the word about how fitness can really benefit people with the disease,” he said.The pandemic made the hike difficult and lonely. But for Ryan, “quitting was never an option even one the hard days when I didn’t think I could go on.”Seeing his family at the end made it all worth it for him. A Reddit user has created an iPhone shortcut designed to record interactions with law enforcement.The program, called "I'm Getting Pulled Over," automatically turns on an iPhone's camera when the user tells Siri they're being pulled over.Robert Peterson first created the shortcut in 2018, and has since updated the program to include new features. A national organization is announcing a million campaign to turn out Hispanic voters in several of this year’s battleground states.Mi Familia Vota, based in Phoenix, said it will spend million on get-out-the-vote measures and an additional million on digital and television ads, starting in Arizona and Florida.Arizona in particular is seen as a battleground because of shifting demographics in the traditionally Republican state. Hispanics are a growing proportion of the electorate.The campaign comes amid rising concerns about Latino turnout in a year when that community has been hit particularly hard by the coronavirus. Latinos account for higher rates of infection from COVID-19 when compared to their share of the population in a number of states, and many are struggling financially from lost jobs and lower wages.“Basically what we’re saying is we’re not going to wait for political parties to do it themselves. They don’t invest in our communities,” said the group’s executive director and CEO, Hector Sanchez Barba.According to the Pew Research Center, 13.3% of eligible voters in the U.S. this year are Latino, a record high. Pew projects that in Arizona, 24% of eligible voters this year are Latino, up 2 percentage points from 2016. In Florida, Latinos are projected to be 20% of eligible voters.That doesn’t mean they will all register or cast ballots on Election Day. U.S. Census data shows that 47% of eligible Hispanic voters in Arizona cast a ballot in 2016, compared to nearly 63% of eligible white voters.Mi Familia Vota aims to get 3.3 million more Latinos in its targeted states to vote.Latino turnout in states such as Arizona could help decide the presidential election, said Matt A. A pharmacist was arrested for allegedly luring an Indiana woman to his Colorado home and then drugging and sexually assaulting her multiple times, according to a release from the Teller County Sheriff’s Office. And investigators believe there are more victims who have yet to come forward.Brent Stein, 46, was a pharmacist with Mountain Key Pharmacy in Florissant, Colorado, about 2 hours southwest of Denver. His pharmacy license was suspended this week as he was booked on three counts of sexual assault, but has since bonded out of the Teller County Detention Facility.The investigation into the allegations against Stein began on June 18, when Teller County detectives received information there was a sexual assault victim at a hospital in Colorado Springs, the sheriff’s office said.The victim told investigators that she had met Stein on a dating website and that the suspect had made promises to heal her medical conditions and that he was a pharmacist, the Teller County release read.The victim traveled from Indiana to Stein’s home, and during her stay, she claims she was given un-prescribed medication by Stein, which resulted in her being incapacitated. Investigators allege the victim was sexually assaulted multiple times by Stein while the victim was under the influence of the unknown medication.Upon further investigation, other victims have come forward to report unwanted sexual conduct by Stein, the sheriff’s office said. Detectives believe there might be other victims and are asking anyone who knows anything about this case or may be an additional victim to come forward.
