SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A three-year-old child suffered serious injuries after he was run over by a pickup truck Saturday morning in El Cerrito.The child reportedly stepped in front of a full-sized truck in the Quad area of Crawford High School, when he was hit. The truck ran over the child's head, according to San Diego Police.Police said the child sustained non-life threatening injuries, including two skull fractures and abrasions.The 31-year-old driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.The incident is under investigation. 557

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An El Cajon mother is searching for clues after her teenage son was brutally beaten and mugged in the East Village.Two Tuesdays ago, Sarah Swift-Farrow got the call every mother dreads. Her 19-year-old son, Titan Mellor, was in the ER and hurt badly."My heart dropped ... just a hopeless feeling," said Swift-Farrow.She believes around 2 p.m., her son, a Grossmont College student, was headed to the Family Health Centers clinic in the East Village, applying for some sort of state assistance, when it happened. Swift-Farrow learned details from the paramedics' report."He was attacked from behind by a group of people, hit in the back of the head with a glass bottle. He fell to the ground, was repeatedly punched, and lost consciousness. Then he was kicked in the face for an unknown duration of time," said Swift-Farrow.Swift-Farrow says the attackers took his keys, phone, and wallet, charging thousands of dollars in purchases on his credit cards during the next few days. As for Mellor, he suffered a concussion and a host of severe injuries."Multiple fractures in his eye socket, his nose, above the mouth, behind his ear and in the back of his head," said Swift-Farrow.She says his road to recovery won't be an easy one. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — After a bitter primary, voters are getting a clearer picture of who will move on in the race to replace Congressman Duncan Hunter in East County's 50th Congressional District. Democrat Ammar Campa-Najjar and Republican Darrell Issa, a former Congressman, are leading the field. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Campa-Najjar had 34 percent of the vote; Issa had 25 percent, former San Diego City Councilman Carl DeMaio had 21 percent, and State Senator Brian Jones had 11 percent. There are still about 350,000 provisional and mail-in ballots to be counted. It is unclear how many of those would include district voters. RELATED: Campa-Najjar, Issa hold leads in 50th Congressional DistrictHunter resigned in January after pleading guilty to one felony count of campaign fraud. The seat has remained vacant since. On Wednesday, Campa-Najjar and Issa began taking at aim at one another in anticipation of facing off in the November runoff. Campa-Najjar pointed out at that Issa does not live in the 50th Congressional District, and said he was part of an older political establishment. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- An executive order signed by President Trump Wednesday may help San Diego's military spouses find work. The executive order is aimed at increasing opportunities for military spouses to obtain federal jobs.The order encourages agencies to increase use of the noncompetitive hiring authority for military spouses.For military spouses, the unemployment rate is 16 percent which is four times higher than the national average for female adults. Among military spouses who do have jobs, 14 percent have part-time jobs and half of those spouses want full-time work.Many spouses of military members choose careers like teaching, nursing or law, but such jobs often have state-specific licenses that make it difficult to move from state to state.“Right now I’m looking at leaving my career because the exams and licensing costs are phenomenal never mind how poorly the education system is run; right from resources to teacher pay,” Sheryl Ogle said in a Facebook comment.According to an impact study conducted by the San Diego Military Advisory Council, there are more than 100,000 active-duty military members in San Diego.
