SOLON, Ohio — An Ohio police department is warning of a Netflix email phishing scam that is asking people to update their payment details after one of their officers, who doesn't even have a Netflix account, received the email.The city of Solon, Ohio Police Department put out the warning, saying criminals want you to click the links so that you voluntarily give out your personal information. The links also could install malware on your computer.In a photo, the very real-looking email it asks users to update their payment details, saying the account is on hold."Hi Dear, We're having some trouble with your current billing information. We'll try again, but in the meantime you may want to update your payment details," the email reads, with a link to update the account.Netflix said if you believe you have received a fraudulent email appearing to be from the company, never enter your details, never click on any links and do not reply to it. Some eggs and embryos at a San Francisco fertility center may no longer be viable after a storage tank malfunction.The Pacific Fertility Center said a piece of equipment in its cyro-storage laboratory "lost liquid nitrogen for a brief period of time" on March 4.It is the second clinic to report a fault that weekend.In an unrelated event, more than 2,000 frozen eggs and embryos were also left compromised at the University Hospitals Fertility Clinic in Cleveland after a malfunction caused temperatures to drop in the freezers where they were stored.Viable tissue recoveredIn a statement, the Pacific Fertility Center said "viable tissue" had been recovered from the one tank affected and that "the vast majority of the eggs and embryos in the lab were unaffected."The equipment was immediately retired and the facility is now operating securely, according to the statement."As soon as the issue was discovered, our most senior embryologists took immediate action to transfer those tissues from the affected equipment to a new piece of equipment."The center said it had brought in independent experts to conduct a full investigation and was reaching out to its patients: "We are truly sorry this happened and for the anxiety that this will surely cause."The clinic's president, Carl Herbert, told the Washington Post that staff had spent days sorting through records to establish which patients had tissue inside the affected storage tank, before clinic doctors called them."Anger is a big part of the phone call," Herbert told the Post. "Right now, our patients and families are our first priority."Many people have been sharing personal concerns on the hospital's Facebook post. Since motorists stayed off the road during the Thanksgiving holiday due to the coronavirus pandemic, gasoline sales in the United States during the holiday week fell to its lowest level since 1997.According to an IHS Markit Oil Price Information Service survey (OPIS), gas consumption fell 8.4%, or about 185 million gallons, from the previous week ending Nov. 28.Demand for motor fuel was down 19.3% compared to 2019, OPIS said.IHS Markit executive director Tom Kloza warns that the market could still get worse by year's end as more and more Americans decide to reduce holiday travel due to COVID-19."We're heading toward a 90-day period where gasoline demand gets further crimped by winter weather and post-holiday cocooning," Kloza said in a press release. "By January, we may regularly see demand numbers not witnessed since the last century."OPIS said some regions saw gasoline sales decline by more than 20% last year during Thanksgiving week.Gasoline sales in the midwest were down 23.3% compared to last year, while New Jersey was the hardest-hit state, with gasoline volumes plunging almost 30% from 2019, OPIS said. 1134
