SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A water main break in Mira Mesa flooded a music and art studio, filling up rooms full of musical instruments and equipment.The sound of gushing water early Saturday night led to a flood of emotions for musician Anastasya Korol."There is a river rushing in the back ... Shocked and really sad as it started to sink in," said Korol.That night, city officials say water from a break in a 55-year-old, 36-inch steel pipe, flowed into the back of a building in the Via Excelencia Business Park. One of the businesses flooded was the San Diego Music and Art Cooperative, a music and art studio for independent artists. It's used for rehearsal space and classes.Korol says among the seven pianos damaged was the piano she played as a child. "It's upsetting to lose it ... The water goes up through the wood, warps the wood and sound board," said Korol.Also waterlogged: dozens of other instruments, from guitars to violins, along with a long list of sound equipment, artwork and art supplies. Studio founder Mathew Rakers says the total loss is hundreds of thousands of dollars."It's crazy to put years and years of work into something and see it wash away in a matter of hours," said Rakers.Rakers plans to file a claim with the city. Attorney Evan Walker, an expert in flood cases, says such cases could take anywhere from six months to two years to wrap up."You're dealing with a bureaucracy, and when you're dealing with litigation, things tend to get complicated," said Rakers.He says filing with your insurance - if you do have flood insurance - is usually speedier. A delay is something Rakers says his artists can't afford."I'm worried. The biggest loss if the loss of incomes. It will put a lot of people out of work," said Rakers.A Gofundme campaign has been set up to help the studio with expenses.If you are filing a claim, you have until six months after the flood to file. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A shopping trip in City Heights ended with a flurry of anti-gay slurs and a road rage assault.On Tuesday afternoon, Marco Aguirre spent an hour shopping, before heading back to his truck, parked in the 3700 block on University Avenue."I back out and lightly bump the car behind me," said Aguirre, 49.Aguirre says he saw two men emerge from an older-model, red sedan. Aguirre apologized, offering to show his insurance, but the men were agitated."The driver came on my side and the passenger came on the other side. Both of them were screaming," said Aguirre.With his cellphone, Aguirre, who is openly gay, capturing the profanities, including a string of anti-gay slurs. Aguirre was frozen. "I feel terrible. Panicked," said Aguirre.He says the slurs continued for about 15 minutes, before he decided to get out of the car to assess the damage."I see no damage to my truck and no damage to their vehicle," said Aguirre. Aguirre says when he stepped onto the sidewalk, he was attacked."One of the guys grabbed my phone and smashed it into the sidewalk. The same guy punched me in the face, under my left eye," said Aguirre. Aguirre says the two men got in the car and took off, leaving him with swelling under his left eye. The incident also left him determined to find the two men."It's not right. I need to take a stand. Officer Wiese took him into custody.Wiese says his competitive spirit motivates him to be a better version of himself every day, to show resilience and strength for his community."If you feel like you're going to win, then incidents like this, like at Sunset Cliffs, 'I'm going to win this incident. I'm going to save these girls in this man.' At the synagogue, 'I'm going to win. I'm going to go home to my family, and he is going to go to jail. and the community is going to be safe.'" SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An East County man suspected of posting graphic videos and plotting a downtown mass shooting was arrested Thursday.Steve Andrew Homoki, 30, was arrested and charged with multiple felony assault weapons charges, possession of a high capacity magazine, and child endangerment. San Diego Police say Homoki posted graphic videos online depicting assault weapons being pointed at unknowing pedestrians outside The Sofia Hotel in downtown San Diego.RELATED: FBI searching for terrorist from San Diego; million reward offered by State DepartmentSDPD served a search warrant at Homoki's Spring Valley home and seized several firearms from his residence. According to the warrant, Homoki has 14 firearms registered in California purchased between February 2018 and May 2019.According to the warrant, Homoki booked a room at the Sofia Hotel on March 22 and checked out the next day. On Sept. 17, a video was posted to a "Steven Anderson" Youtube channel, believed to belong to Homoki. The video showed the interior of a Sofia Hotel room from what appears to be a camera mounted to a man's body.The videographer is not seen as the video continues to show two assault-style rifles on a couch, along with a female mannequin head, a Department of Homeland Security license plate, an envelope, and ammunition scattered on the room's floor, documents stated.RELATED: FBI seeks men wanted for takeover bank robbery in EscondidoThe video then shows a semi-automatic handgun being loaded and pointed at people walking outside in the area of Front Street and Broadway, as the subject is heard saying "jams, boom," documents said. The ammunition then jams the gun and the subject unloads the round.The subject continues, picking up an assault-style rifle from the couch and pointing it out the window at pedestrians again and pulling the trigger while the firearm's chamber is empty, or "dry firing." The subject can be heard saying "one down, more to go," the warrant said.Another video posted to the same Youtube channel on Sept. 18 appears to be taken from inside the same hotel showing similar images play out, the warrant continued. The unknown person said they feared he was planning to do something, adding they can "almost guarantee if he is confronted while at home, he will open fire on Federal Agents or police."The unknown person said they watched the user "slowly become less stable over the period of almost an entire year" and post a goodbye message about five or six months prior.Authorities said they believe Homoki was rehearsing a domestic terrorist attack in the videos. SDPD has also filed a gun violence restraining order against Homoki.Homoki is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. 3047

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A South Bay high school was placed on lockdown while police searched a vehicle outside the campus.San Diego Police placed Southwest High School under lockdown while officers searched a vehicle they stopped on Hollister Street, just outside campus.Police said the traffic stop was a result of someone reporting they saw a gun. The suspected vehicle was located and pulled over.Southwest High was placed on lockdown as a precaution and police said the campus wasn't being threatened - the traffic stop just happened to occur outside the school property.Police found a BB gun inside the vehicle. No shots were fired and no one was injured.The lockdown was later lifted.Police said they encourage anyone who thinks they see a weapon to report it to authorities. 799
