(AP) — The lawyer for the Kenosha police officer who shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back says his client told investigators he thought Blake was trying to abduct one of his own children. Brendan Matthews, the attorney for Officer Rusten Sheskey, told CNN that Sheskey also said Blake was holding a knife as he leaned into the SUV on Aug. 23 and that he opened fire because Blake “twisted his body toward” him. The Kenosha News reports that Blake's uncle, Justin Blake, said Saturday that the claim Blake was trying to kidnap his own child is "Gaslighting. KGTV (SAN DIEGO) - The report investigating whether President Donald Trump or his aides colluded with Russians to interfere with the 2016 election, or obstruct justice, has been handed over to the Department of Justice. So what now?"He didn't call a ball or a strike, he said you know I'm just going to let you guys do this," said former U.S. Attorney Chuck LaBella. LaBella explained Attorney Robert Mueller is leaving it up to the Department of Justice to decide."I actually think it's the right call for him to make because he is not in the Department of Justice, he's a former prosecutor, he knows what the rules are, he knows what the standard is, but this is a Department of Justice policy decision," LaBella said. LaBella worked on a similar investigation, during former President Bill Clinton's administration, regarding campaign finance abuses.When it comes to how much information can be released, LaBella said the public will probably only see 30-40% of the findings. They were initially suspected of bad conduct," he said. JULIAN (CNS) - Three Cal Fire San Diego firefighters suffered minor injuries while dousing a blaze at a home in a rural area southwest of Julian, authorities said Tuesday.The fire was reported shortly before 8:40 p.m. Monday at a home on Pine Ridge Avenue in the unincorporated Pine Hills community, Cal Fire San Diego Capt. Issac Sanchez said.When firefighters arrived at the scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames, but the home's residents were able to get out safely.Crews doused the blaze and had the flames knocked down by 10:20 p.m., the state agency reportedThree firefighters were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries but were released back to duty that night, Sanchez said.The American Red Cross was called in to help the displaced residents arrange for temporary lodging. 810
