CLEVELAND, Ohio - Students across the nation are still adapting to their new learning environment as more schools have opted to begin the year with remote learning.But, a study from The Rox Institute revealed that girls in middle and high school are struggling significantly. Nearly 1,300 5th-12th grade girls, who attend 88 different schools, completed the survey.The findings show the pandemic has induced stress, feelings of isolation, and depression.Nearly 40% of girls said they had higher stress levels and 80% said they felt isolated more than they had before COVID-19.Clinical psychologist, Dr. Carolyn Levers-Landis said the findings shouldn't come as a surprise."Many are just wondering, "when will this be over? How much longer do I have? Things keep changing," she said. "You just feel like the rug is getting yanked out from under you over and over again."With girls spending less time with family and friends this summer, the survey said they're turning to social media even more. The results show one-third of respondents are spending six or more hours a day on social media.But, the screen time isn't leaving a positive impact. As many spend the time comparing themselves to others."Girls are struggling even without COVID. In a normal world, they're struggling. And then you isolate them and I think it's really hard for them to navigate their new space," said Robyn Cutler.Cutler is the executive director for Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio, an empowerment group for girls with a fitness component. The organization's website said over the course of the ten-week program, girls in 3rd-8th grades develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness.Cutler said it's okay for girls to be sad about missing their friends, but encouraged parents and caregivers to find ways to tap into their creativity."There isn't enough space in this isolation period for girls to feel like people are listening to them and interacting with them. Parents and caregivers can really do a great job by just making space for them to pay attention to their girl, have conversations with them, read with them," she said.Both Cutler and Dr. Levers-Landis said parents of young girls should be on the lookout for changes in behaviors. Clark County Deputy Fire Chief Jon Klassen recalls a moment that occurred around 2 a.m.—just a few hours after the gunfire ceased at the Route 91 Music Festival.  He calls it “one of the most meaningful, symbolic things” he has ever seen in 30 years in the business.Klassen was working with other paramedics and a crime scene investigator, combing through the grisly aftermath of the concert grounds, helping to confirm fatalities when one woman in particular stood out.“She just was so beautiful and peaceful,” Klassen recalls. “And quiet.”He said it almost just looked like she was laying there, watching TV, when he noticed something around her eye.“Just one tear drop,” he said, still sounding like he has trouble believing what he saw. A mother of three.Her husband, Robert, went through a 22-hour ordeal to track down his wife, as detailed in a heart-wrenching account in a local newspaper.Upon hearing word that this deputy fire chief had something he would like to share if it’s something Lisa’s family would want to hear, Robert contacted Klassen.“We had a great conversation. And it was comforting and closing and cathartic for him. And I was able to tell this 16-year-old kid, ‘Your mom was beautiful, and peaceful and quiet.’”The two have spent some time together since that initial phone conversation, and Klassen now considers Bob Patterson a friend.Despite the fact that it has been four weeks since the attack, very little information has come to light and many questions remain, including the timing of when security guard Jesus Campos, the first to arrive at the gunman’s room, arrived on scene. Authorities have offered varying accounts in the weeks since. There is also still no word on a motive.But none of that frustrates Klassen. COLUMBUS, Indiana — A father found mold in a Capri Sun pouch last month that he was going to give his child. Cameron Hardwick, of Columbus, Indiana, posted a video of the discovery in the Capri Sun pouch on Sept. 24. He was going to give the Capri Sun to his 3-year-old child, and he found that one pouch was lighter and different than others.Hardwick cut the pouch open and poured it into a glass, where some kind of mold was visible. His post has more than 21 million views, and 88,000 shares on Facebook. "To say we are irate would be an understatement... we don't give these to our children often but will NEVER again!" Hardwick wrote. After the video was posted, he contacted Kraft and somebody picked up the pouch. CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) -- A 21-year-old sailor died after falling from the USS Nimitz Friday night. According to U.S. Naval Air Forces, the sailor fell from one of the ship’s aircraft elevators. The USS Nimitz was in port at Naval Air Station North Island. The 21-year-old suffered serious injuries from the fall and died Saturday morning, according to the Navy. The name of the sailor hasn’t been released at this time and the nature of the accident is under investigation. A sailor from USS Nimitz passed away early this morning from injuries sustained in an accident aboard ship last night. The sailor fell from one of the ship’s aircraft elevators in a down position.
