CLEVELAND, Ohio - We’re a little over a month away from Thanksgiving and health officials are more concerned than ever thinking about spiking coronavirus cases as families may be planning to gather for the holiday.“We had seen a decrease in cases from our peak, of course, which was in July and we were down into the 40s per day of receiving cases until the mid-last week. Then it started to go up from there," said Romona Brazile, Interim Co-Director of Prevention and Wellness Services at Cuyahoga County Board of Health. "Of course, we want to see our families, but limiting the number of people, still trying to practice social distancing even if it is in your own home, still wearing a mask."Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease agrees. His own family is now sacrificing not seeing each other as his children worry about his age and possible exposure to the virus.“Don't assume that because you're in your own home with your own family that you're not going to spread infection,” he said.Even traveling to see our families is risky. Dr. Fauci said travel on planes and public transportation could increase exposure to the virus.Instead, the CDC is offering up some suggestions on ways you can still have a holiday celebration with friends and family while being safe.The agency said celebrating virtually is your best bet, but if you do meet up in person make sure you stay outside as much as possible and avoid crowds. The CDC also said gatherings with more preventive measures in place pose less risk compared to gatherings with fewer or no preventive measures at all.After any holiday celebrations, you should stay at home as much as possible, avoid crowds and those considered at risk. CINCINNATI (AP) — The Hall of Fame second baseman Joe Morgan has died at the age of 77.A family spokesman says he died at his home Sunday in Danville, California.Morgan was suffering from a nerve condition, a form of polyneuropathy. He became the sparkplug of the Big Red Machine and the prototype for baseball’s artificial turf era.Morgan was a two-time NL Most Valuable Player, a 10-time All-Star, and won five Gold Gloves. CNN White House reporter Jim Acosta said on Wednesday that he was denied access to the White House on Wednesday evening, following a contentious news conference when he sparred with President Donald Trump. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed the White House has removed Acosta's hard pass, which allows journalists access to the White House grounds. Sanders said that Acosta's credential has been revoked until further notice. Earlier on Wednesday, Acosta was scolded by Trump for continuing a tough line of questioning. "CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them," Trump said. "You're a very rude person. The way you treat Sarah Huckabee Sanders is horrible. You shouldn't treat people that way."Acosta questioned the President about his rhetoric surrounding a migrant caravan that is traveling on foot to the United States. While trying to ask a follow-up question, Trump repeatedly told Acosta he was moving on.At that point, a White House staffer attempted to take the microphone out of Acosta's hands. Acosta made several attempts to pose the follow-up question to Trump before finally allowing the White House staffer to take the microphone.Sanders claimed that Acosta placed his hands on the staffer while trying to hold onto the microphone. "President Trump believes in a free press and expects and welcomes tough questions of him and his Administration," Sanders said in a statement. County employees in southern California have been arrested for allegedly damaging a Black Lives Matter sign that was displayed on private property in the city of Thousand Oaks.The homeowner installed a surveillance camera and captured several instances of people damaging and trying to remove the sign, which is a tarp along a fence with the letters "BLM" on it. Authorities said they recognized one of the vandals after the homeowner posted surveillance video on social media, according to the LA Times. Three people so far have been arrested, including Darin Stone, a sheriff's office employee in a non-sworn-in position. He was allegedly seen slashing the sign in two separate incidents while off-duty.Stone received a misdemeanor citation and was placed on administrative leave.Craig Anderson, an investigative assistant in the Ventura County DA's office was cited for vandalism.
