The National Transportation Safety Board released a report Wednesday stating that the pilots were likely at fault with the August 2019 plane crash involving former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his family in Tennessee.The report stated that the pilot's approaching the runway at Elizabethton Municipal Airport too fast and the flight crew's decision not to abort the landing was the likely cause of the crash.The plane then bounce landed, causing a landing gear to collapse, and the pilots losing control of the airplane."Contributing to the accident was the pilot's failure to deploy the speedbrakes during the initial touchdown, which may have prevented the runway excursion, and the pilot's attempt to go around after deployment of the thrust reversers," the report said.Earnhardt's wife and child were also onboard the plane when it crashed.The agency said the pilot and co-pilot were not injured, and the three passengers sustained minor injuries.You can read the full report below: NTSB Earnhardt Jr. Report by Sarah Dewberry on Scribd 1058

The principal of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where 17 people were killed in a February 14 school shooting, said students who walk out today will be punished.Principal Ty Thompson told the students during yesterday's announcements that if they leave campus they will face disciplinary action. A teacher told CNN that the disciplinary action will be an unexcused absence.But that isn't stopping the students: Most of the teachers said they expect a good number of the students to walk out of the classrooms, but they aren't so sure how many will leave campus.However, the student body isn't exactly unified on this walkout. While many of the most vocal students are promoting the walkout, some other students feel conflicted since the walkout marks the Columbine shooting anniversary. Columbine leaders have pushed back against a walkout, asking students to treat the day as a day of service and not just a day to walk out.At Stoneman Douglas, some of the students are planning to do acts of service on campus instead of actually walking out.  1064

The Macy's at Herald Square boarded up its windows in anticipation of protests from the result of the presidential election. PIX11 News cameras saw workers boarding up along the famous storefront Friday evening.A spokesperson for Macy’s told PIX11 News on Saturday the windows were initially scheduled to be covered up next week."Our windows at Macy’s Herald Square were previously scheduled to be dark next week in set-up for our annual holiday displays. The man accused of setting a Southern California fire that has burned more than 19,000 acres appeared in court Friday and said, "It's all a lie!" as a judge read the charges against him.Forrest Gordon Clark, 51, did not enter a plea during the brief appearance in an Orange County courtroom. When the judge explained the process further to him, Clark said, "I comprehend.
