BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- China is currently going through the relevant domestic legal procedures as required and striving for its accession to the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) at an early date, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang said Saturday.

"The rapid growth in card issuance and the popularity of UnionPay as a payment method is largely due to China's further opening up and the increasing demand for cross-border transactions," said the statement.

In the first six months this year, tourism consumption at the port exceeded 6.2 billion yuan (874 million U.S. dollars), up 40.4 percent from the year before.

As a result of China's reforms to expand market access and cut administrative red tape, the number of enterprises in the country mushroomed at an average growth rate of 16.9 percent annually from 2012 to 2017.
