After serving time in jail the past three and a half months, Montanez said she gave him a second chance to get his act together. WFTX reached out to the State Attorney's Office and Cape Coral police to try and get confirmation that this phone call happened Monday. They said they are looking into it but can't yet confirm Montanez's account. Authorities said they won't be able to release what is said in any of Wilson's phone calls from jail because it's still an active investigation. Wilson remains in the Lee County jail on unrelated charges. With only five days left until early voting begins in California’s top-two primary for the state's 49th Congressional district, a new SurveyUSA poll shows who is leading the race for Darrell Issa’s seat.According to the data, 16 percent of those surveyed support Republican Rocky Chavez with 12 percent saying they support Democrat Doug Applegate.In a poll conducted by SurveyUSA two months ago, Applegate was in first place with 18 percent of people saying they supported the Democratic candidate and 17 percent saying they support Chavez.When asked “Which one of the following issues will be most important in determining how you vote in this election,” 25 percent of people surveyed said the job the President is doing.Meanwhile, when asked whether or not they approve of the job the President is doing, 49 percent say they disapprove while 46 percent say they approve.Those surveyed were also asked whether or not they approve or disapprove of the job Darrell Issa is doing. 46 percent said they disapprove while 42 percent say they approve.Data for the survey, which involved more than 500 adults, was conducted April 6 through April 10. 1170

They are impulsive. They are quick. They're just built to explore and they're not great at following rules or understanding limits. And for them water is a fascinating thing and if they can find it, they will, and they're going to try and get in it,” said Dr. Ben Hoffman, pediatrician with AAP Council on Injury, Violence and Poison Prevention.Hoffman says a locking fence around the entire pool can cut the risk of drowning by half. If you don’t have a fence for inflatable pools, emptying them out is best. For above ground, he suggests removing the ladder.Swim lessons also can decrease the risk of drowning. But nothing replaces the constant, within arm’s length, non-distracted adult supervision.“You have to have somebody designated as a water watcher,” said Sophia Brizeus, whose daughter drowned in pool. “Make sure they are watching the kids in the water because like I said, this can happen to anybody and it only takes a second, it only takes a second.”Brizeus started the Love Bug Foundation in memory of her daughter Soraya, who was almost 2 years old when she drowned while they were visiting with family one Sunday afternoon. The toddler just slipped away and into the pool, even with adults around.Soraya was even supposed to start swim lessons a week later.Brizeus is now educating other parents about water safety through Facebook and Instagram accounts.“What I’ve learned about the drownings is it’s not like the movies at all.
