The house-sharing company has also made it more challenging for some guests under the age of 25 from booking rentals in their region unless they have a number of positive reviews. According to the San Diego District Attorney, the pair sought out small school districts with limited experience in oversight and proposed they start online charter schools to earn more public funds. Sean McManus, 46, and Jason Schrock, 44, the CEO and president of A3 Education, along with nine other people named in the case have been indicted in San Diego County. Criminal counts include conspiracy, misappropriation of public funds, paying for student information and conflict of interest.A year-long investigation uncovered a massive scheme in which McManus and Schrock told subordinates and co-defendants to open a total of 19 charter schools in both San Diego County and statewide, according to the DA. McManus and Schrock are then accused of transferring more than million in public charter school funds into companies the pair own or control. Instead of spending the money on education, once the money was in private bank accounts, both men are accused of using the funds for themselves and their families. According to authorities, McManus and Schrock used the money to invest in startup companies, real estate, and wired money directly to themselves or family members. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Amid fears of post-election unrest, parishioners at San Diego's oldest church are meeting the possibility of violence with prayer.It's the morning of the election and Peggy Stolberg is hoping to cast a vote for peace — through prayer."It always seems like prayers are the answers to many things," said Stolberg.Stolberg spent part of her morning in the sanctuary of the Mission San Diego de Alcala, her church for the last 35 years."I pray for the unity of our country. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A San Diego prison worker has tested positive for coronavirus, as California prepares to release 3,500 non-violent offenders.CoreCivic, the private company that runs the Otay Mesa Detention Center, confirmed to 10News that an employee who works at the facility has tested positive for COVID-19.The company discovered the positive test on March 30. The employee was last at work on March 21. The confirmation comes the same day California officials announced the state would grant an early release to 3,500 non-violent offenders who are due to be released in the next 60 days.
