SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman was shot multiple times during a dispute over a transaction in the Encanto area, San Diego police said Monday morning.Police said the incident occurred just after 5:30 a.m. in the 6100 Imperial Avenue.According to police, a woman in her 30s suffered several gunshot wounds to her arm and one to her stomach. Her injuries are not considered life threatening, police said.Police said the woman was shot by a man during what was described as a dispute over a transaction. The man was described as a Black man in his 30s, 6 feet 4 inches tall, and weighing 210 pounds.He was last seen wearing a red hoodie and blue jeans.No other details were released. 684

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An East County man suspected of posting graphic videos and plotting a downtown mass shooting was arrested Thursday.Steve Andrew Homoki, 30, was arrested and charged with multiple felony assault weapons charges, possession of a high capacity magazine, and child endangerment. San Diego Police say Homoki posted graphic videos online depicting assault weapons being pointed at unknowing pedestrians outside The Sofia Hotel in downtown San Diego.RELATED: FBI searching for terrorist from San Diego; million reward offered by State DepartmentSDPD served a search warrant at Homoki's Spring Valley home and seized several firearms from his residence. According to the warrant, Homoki has 14 firearms registered in California purchased between February 2018 and May 2019.According to the warrant, Homoki booked a room at the Sofia Hotel on March 22 and checked out the next day. On Sept. 17, a video was posted to a "Steven Anderson" Youtube channel, believed to belong to Homoki. The video showed the interior of a Sofia Hotel room from what appears to be a camera mounted to a man's body.The videographer is not seen as the video continues to show two assault-style rifles on a couch, along with a female mannequin head, a Department of Homeland Security license plate, an envelope, and ammunition scattered on the room's floor, documents stated.RELATED: FBI seeks men wanted for takeover bank robbery in EscondidoThe video then shows a semi-automatic handgun being loaded and pointed at people walking outside in the area of Front Street and Broadway, as the subject is heard saying "jams, boom," documents said. The ammunition then jams the gun and the subject unloads the round.The subject continues, picking up an assault-style rifle from the couch and pointing it out the window at pedestrians again and pulling the trigger while the firearm's chamber is empty, or "dry firing." The subject can be heard saying "one down, more to go," the warrant said.Another video posted to the same Youtube channel on Sept. 18 appears to be taken from inside the same hotel showing similar images play out, the warrant continued. The unknown person said they feared he was planning to do something, adding they can "almost guarantee if he is confronted while at home, he will open fire on Federal Agents or police."The unknown person said they watched the user "slowly become less stable over the period of almost an entire year" and post a goodbye message about five or six months prior.Authorities said they believe Homoki was rehearsing a domestic terrorist attack in the videos. SDPD has also filed a gun violence restraining order against Homoki.Homoki is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday. 3047

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Among the propositions that will be on the November ballot in California, Proposition 17 will ask voters to decide whether or not to allow individuals on parole to vote.Voters will vote "yes" or "no" on the proposition, which is an amendment to the state's constitution introduced by Sacramento Assemblymember Kevin McCarty, according to BallotPedia.In California, those who are "mentally incompetent or imprisoned or on parole for the conviction of a felony" for a state or federal sentence are not allowed to vote.The passage of Proposition 17 would instead direct the state to only disqualify those who are currently serving a sentence for the conviction of a felony and allow those on parole for a felony conviction to vote."Parole is not an extension of punishment. It's a reintegration time for someone to come back in their community," says Shay Franco-Clausen, the Yes on Prop 17 Campaign Manager. "What better way to make them feel that they have a stake in the community is there than giving the right to them."Those who support Prop 17 argue, "when a person completes their prison sentence, they should be encouraged to reenter society and have a stake in their community. Restoring their voting rights does that. Civic engagement is connected to lower rates of recidivism. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A second lawsuit has been filed by family members of a mother and daughter killed by a YouTube star in a deadly wrong-way crash last year.18-year-old Trevor Heitmann, known as McSkillet on YouTube, drove his McLaren the wrong way on I-805 in August 2018. The crash killed Aileen Pizarro and her 12-year-old daughter Aryana. This latest lawsuit was filed August 22nd by Angelo Pizarro and Arcelio Garcia. Pizarro is one of the sons of Aileen Pizarro. Garcia is the father of Aryana. A lawsuit earlier this summer was filed by Aileen Pizarro's other son, Dominic, and her father. The lawsuit claims wrongful death and negligence by the City of San Diego and the County of San Diego. The family is also suing Heitmann’s estate. It states that San Diego police received a “mental case” call that Heitmann was “screaming, paranoid and delusional and threatening to harm his mom.”Police were advised by a licensed psychiatrist that Heitmann needed to be “possibly placed on a 5150 mental hold,” according to court records. However, officers did not speak to or evaluate Heitmann to determine if he was a danger to himself or others. The lawsuit also states that “one or more of the Police Officers represented or implied that they were part of a San Diego County Psychiatric Emergency Team.”Team 10 reached out to both county and city officials. As of Wednesday afternoon, there was no comment regarding the lawsuit from the city. A county spokesperson said they have not seen the lawsuit yet. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- About 500 people turned out for a school safety community forum for the Poway Unified School District Tuesday night. Poway Unified School District put on the event so parents could learn what the district is doing to address and school and student safety.  The district asked parents to send in questions ahead of the forum. The forum, held at the Mt. Carmel High School Performing Arts Center on Carmel Mountain Road (map below).“In recent past couple weeks, San Diego schools have been inundated with threats. huge waste- prevent learn- gotten discussion and discourse going where school safety is once again a priority in terms of discussion for this community,” Christine Park, with Poway Unified told 10News.The mayor and the San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore were also at the forum. Marly Franke sent in several questions about emergency protocols, security cameras on campuses as well as what training is available for teachers and students.“I think this is hopefully the beginning of a more open communication forum,” she said, “I think in the past schools make decisions more unilaterally, and we have to involve the community when it comes to children safety.”RELATED: Timeline shows threats made against San Diego County schoolsThe forum comes on the same day the district launched a hotline for to report school threats and the school district announced it earmarked -million in its new budget for school safety and security.Messages left on the Poway hotline will be monitored around the clock by the Poway Sheriff’s Station.
