(WFTS) — Thirteen men, including a former military police officer and a cook at a Disney resort, were arrested in an undercover online child predator operation.The Polk County Sheriff's Office said undercover detectives posed as girls and boys on social media platforms and dating websites from October 2 through October 7.During the six-day "Operation Cyber Guardian Fall Haul," 13 men communicated with undercover detectives thinking they were children between the ages 13 and 14 and showed up to a Polk County location to solicit sexual acts from the "children." Pregnant women in Vancouver who were exposed to the highest level of environmental nitric oxide, an airborne, traffic-related pollutant, were more likely to give birth to children later diagnosed with autism, the researchers say.Autism spectrum disorder, a developmental disability, is characterized by problems with communication and social interaction with accompanying repetitive behavior patterns.Lief Pagalan, lead author of the study and a member of the faculty of health sciences at Simon Fraser University, cautions that the study, published Monday in the medical journal JAMA Pediatrics, showed only an association between prenatal exposure to nitric oxide and autism rates. (KGTV) — North County residents forced to use bottled water following a boil water advisory will have to wait a little longer to return to the tap.The City of Poway issued a boil water advisory on Saturday after learning that a recent storm may have compromised the potable drinking water system. Tuesday, the city said two tests showed water meets industry standards and was absent of bacteria. Though the tests are positive, the city says they will continue the advisory per state protocols. Officials were not able to offer a timeline as to when the advisory would be lifted. Officials say water should be boiled for a minute and that it's still safe to shower.As the boil order continued Tuesday, many local small business owners are growing more concerned.At Poway's Round Table Pizza, employees were able to operate on a limited menu and modified permit thanks to help from a neighboring location in Rancho Bernardo. POTRERO (CNS) - One person was killed Thursday afternoon when a vehicle crashed at a rural road crossing in the far southern reaches of San Diego County, struck a power pole and burst into flames, igniting a brush fire.The fatal wreck took place shortly before 2:30 p.m. at Hartley Hill and Round Potrero roads, north of state Route 94 in Potrero, according to the California Highway Patrol.The burning vehicle ignited a vegetation blaze that blackened about three open acres before firefighters could get the flames under control, Cal Fire reported.Further details about the traffic accident, included the victim's identity, were not immediately available. 665
