SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Lime is rolling its dockless scooters and bikes out of San Diego, a month after a hearing officer ruled the company could keep its operating permit.Lime announced Thursday they would not be renewing their permit to operate in San Diego but would monitor the opportunity to return in the future.“As part of our path to profitability, Lime has made the difficult decision to exit San Diego and focus our resources on markets that allow us to meet our ambitious goals for 2020," a statement from Lime said. "We’re grateful to our team members, riders, Juicers and communities who supported us throughout this journey. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Images of burning homes, helicopters and flames are now a regular occurrence in California.This summer, that wildfire threat became real for the Del Cerro community.“We could hear the exploding palm trees, we could smell the toxic, frightening smoke," remembers Glenn Thomas, Vice Chair of Friends of Del Cerro.The group wanted to do something to pay back firefighters for all they do for the community. They wanted to know what the department needs to help firefighters do their job better. “We believe you find out what people want and you give it to them!” said Thomas.Friends of Del Cerro teamed up with the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation to make something happen.What the department needs, Thomas learned, is more wildland firefighting hand tools. While these tools are currently on brush trucks, the department wants them on every engine.“There are so many more vegetation fires, and they grow so much bigger now," said Deputy Chief Steve Wright. “Something we needed that’s going to be a force-multiplier on vegetation fires that we didn’t have the immediate budget for."The group plans to raise ,000 for the tools and is halfway there thanks to a generous donation from the Padres.If you'd like to help, donate here. 1261

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - If San Diego County has a case rate higher than 7.0 next week, it could be moved into the state’s purple tier which is the most restrictive tier for area businesses.Wednesday, county health officials said San Diego County was at a 4.5% testing positivity rate and 7.9 cases per 100,000 people. The current case rate it over the state's threshold of 7.0 cases per 100,000 residents reserved for the purple tier, the state's most restrictive.According to a breakdown from the California Department of Public Health, retail stores will have to lower to 25% capacity indoors, from 50% capacity.Restaurants must move to outdoor dining only, after operating at 25% capacity indoors or 100 people, whichever is fewer.Shopping centers will move to 25% capacity with closed common areas and a closed food court.
