SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police are investigating the discovery of a woman's body in the waters off Fiesta Island Saturday.Police said they received a call just after 6:40 a.m. about a body floating in the water on the south side of the island. San Diego Fire-Rescue personnel arrived and removed the body from the water and pronounced the victim dead.Police said while there are no obvious signs of trauma, because of the circumstances and condition of the body SDPD Homicide investigators were called to the scene.Little is still known about the victim and circumstances surrounding her death, police said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police identified Tuesday the officer involved in a shooting in Little Italy Saturday.Several witnesses flagged down a patrol car driving at 1300 India Street about 6:45 p.m. to let the officer know about a man who was not wearing a shirt and acting belligerently.The SDPD report indicated Officer Anthony Bueno found the man, Brent Zadina, on the hood of a car, yelling at the driver.RELATED: Officer Bueno has history of conflictsZadina appeared to be drunk or under the influence of drugs, police said.Officer Bueno tried to arrest Zadina but he resisted and the officer used his taser, according to the report. Zadina continued to struggle and the officer feared for his life, said the SDPD.Officer Bueno fired one round but missed Zadina. No one was injured.Additional officers arrived and handcuffed Zadina, who was taken to the hospital for observation.San Diego Police said Zadina remains at the hospital and will be booked into jail when he is released.Officer Bueno is a 19-year veteran of the police force.Anyone with information is asked to call the San Diego Police Department at 619-531-2293. 1148

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego County was officially added to California's "monitoring list" as the number of coronavirus cases across the state increases, and Gov. Gavin Newsom said he expected local health officials to comply with specific orders that include the closure of indoor dining spaces.As of Monday afternoon, San Diego County joined five other counties on the monitoring list. The other counties added to the list: Colusa, Madera, Marin, Merced, and Monterey.Of the state’s 58 counties, 23 of them are on the state’s list.Ahead of the Fourth of July weekend, Newsom ordered counties that have been on the list for at least three days to shutter indoor operations at businesses such as restaurants, wineries, movie theaters, zoos, museums and cardrooms.In a tweet on his Twitter account, Newsom said:"CA is now asking Colusa, Madera, Marin, Merced, Monterey & San Diego to close indoor operations for:-Restaurants-Wineries-Movie theaters-Zoos, museums-CardroomsBars must close ALL operations."During his Monday news conference, Newsom said he was awaiting an order from local health officials in each of the newly-added counties to issue an order enacting the measures, which are expected to remain in effect for at least three weeks.Counties on the list were also ordered to close all of its bars, a move San Diego County had already taken ahead of the holiday weekend. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police arrested a man who tried to rob a downtown bank Saturday.Police said a 34-year-year old white man entered the Chase Bank on West Broadway and handed a note to a teller saying that he was robbing the bank shortly before 3 p.m. The teller was able to keep the suspect inside the bank until San Diego Police arrived on the scene. Police took the empty-handed suspect into custody without incident as he was walking out of the bank. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.  585
