SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A medical helicopter transporting a heart from Grossmont Hospital for transplant crashed on the helipad of a Los Angeles-area hospital on Friday.The AgustaWestland A109 medical helicopter flipped onto its side after experiencing a hard landing on the roof of Keck Hospital of USC at about 3:15 p.m., according to a statement from the hospital. Three people on board, the pilot and two medical personnel, escaped without major injuries. Nobody on the ground or in the hospital was injured, the hospital and FAA said. Patient care at the hospital was not interrupted.The helicopter was carrying a heart from Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, according to helicopter service provider Helinet. The hospital said in a statement that the organ was safely delivered to the intended patient in time for surgery.“We are fully cooperating with the NTSB and FAA on their investigations,” said Helinet COO and President Sean M. Cross. “Our company prides itself on professional operation and maintenance of aircraft as core values - the safety of our customers and pilots is always our top priority. We are happy that at this time there appear to have been no serious injuries.”The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.Helinet says it completed more than 1,300 helicopter air ambulance missions in 2019. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man who admitted to several "Peeping Tom" instances in the Pacific Beach area was sentenced Wednesday.James Wayne Hubbard, 48, was sentenced to 364 days in jail for the series of incidents between Sept. 11 and Oct. 12.Hubbard pleaded guilty to three counts of peeping and prowling as part of a plea deal. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego financial expert in San Diego has a message for women looking for success: a man is not a financial plan.Most women would rather talk with the grandmothers about their love lives than talk about financial planning, according to an investment survey done by Oppenheimer Funds.CPA Ginita Wall has a clear message.“Every marriage ends in either divorce or widowhood and 70 percent of the time it’s the woman who’s left alone,” said Wall. “Then thinking that magically, someday, I’ll start saving for retirement, someday I’ll be able to buy a house; living in the someday and not really planning for it today.”Wall moved her CPA practice to San Diego 31 years ago. She realized there was a need.“Women were out in the marketplace, but they weren't managing the money, and sadly, often nobody was.”Wall and financial planner Candace Bahr launched the Women’s Institute for Financial Education (WIFE), a nonprofit to give women the tools to start making a difference.“We didn't have anything to sell anybody. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A man was rescued from the top of a section of the border wall in Otay Mesa Tuesday.Cal Fire firefighters were called to a section of barrier in Otay Mesa just before 6 a.m. Crews arrived to find one person stuck on top of the border wall structure.Crews used a 35-foot ladder to reach the man and assist him down. No injuries were reported.Tuesday's rescue comes more than a month after San Diego Fire-Rescue firefighters and Border Patrol agents helped rescue three people stuck on top of a portion of the border wall in Otay Mesa. 560
