(KGTV) — It wasn't long ago police department began throwing down the challenge to other agencies to pick a song a sing.The "lip sync challenge" has bounced between departments from coast to coast since about June. Now, California Highway Patrol officers are getting in on the challenge.And it's appropriately Californian.CHP officers put together a six-minute music video of their lip singing skills, even recruiting "CHiPs" star Erik Estrada back to the force to help out.RELATED: Ohio police department raises 'lip sync challenge' bar with doughnut?videoThe video begins with a group of officers trying to decide which song to pick, before CHP mascot Chipper calls in Estrada to set the stage."Listen up, I know you're the best, you're elite, and you're tops in cops but I'm from Hollywood, and this is how we do it. (KGTV) -- The state’s Department of Motor Vehicles is reopening its remaining field offices that were shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Starting Thursday, June 11, 169 DMV locations across California will reopen for customers that have appointments and provide service for limited transactions that require an in-person visit.DMV field offices were closed in March due to the coronavirus pandemic but select locations around the state began reopening in May with limited service.Although field offices will reopen, many services -- including behind-the-wheel drive tests – are not available for the time being. Officials said behind-the-wheel testing will return in the coming weeks.DMV officials are urging customers to continue “to use its online services, expanded virtual services and other service channels to complete transactions, including eligible driver license and vehicle registration renewals.”Among the limited services being offered at field offices:Paying registration for an impounded vehicle due to registration-related issuesReinstating a suspended or revoked river licensepplying for a reduced-fee or no-fee identification cardProcessing commercial driver license transactionsApplying for a disabled person parking placardsAdding ambulance certificate or firefighter endorsement to a driver licenseVerifying transit training document to drive transit busProcess DMV express customers for REAL ID transactions, if time and space allowVehicle verificationsDMV officials said the department is rescheduling any appointments that were canceled during the closure and notifying customers of new appointment dates.At each field office, employees will be wearing face coverings, practicing physical distancing protocols, and will have access to disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, field shields, gloves, and soap and water.All customers will be required to wear a face covering and remain at least six feet apart from others when in line. (KGTV) A same-sex couple says a staffer from a private school in Solana Beach told them to not submit their son’s application.Matthew Bosse and Joe Mosca are looking at middle schools for their 10-year-old son.They say Garrett earns exceptional grades and is as much a musician as he is a lacrosse player so several friends referred them to Santa Fe Christian Schools in Solana Beach.Bosse says during a phone call he told the SFCS staff member that he was married to a man.“That’s when she essentially said the values that are taught at the home are the values that are taught at school and we don’t think your family would be a good match,” said Bosse.The family regularly attends an Episcopalian church and says they’re a same-sex couple with Christian values.“You never expect to encounter such over discrimination,” said Mosca, who is also the Deputy Mayor of Encinitas.Since Santa Fe Christian Schools is private and receives no public funding, it does not have to follow state or federal anti-discrimination laws.In a statement to 10News SFCS wrote:"While we do not provide details on matters involving students or prospective students, I can say that our policy is to encourage the family of any student committed to academic excellence and spiritual development to apply. As a matter of practice, we do not attempt to persuade or dissuade prospective families from applying.
