MORGAN HILL, Calif. -- Authorities are investigating what exactly caused a plane to land on the freeway in the Bay Area Sunday morning, according to The Mercury News. The plane landed on Highway 101 near Morgan Hill around 11 a.m. The plane blocked one lane of the highway before authorities were able to tow it away.The Federal Aviation Administration said engine failure caused the emergency landing.Only the pilot was onboard and was uninjured, authorities confirmed. Montgomery County, Maryland police announced Thursday night that Laura Wallen was shot in the back of the head, according to autopsy findings. Tyler Tessier, Wallen's boyfriend and the father of her unborn child has been charged with her murder. He's been charged with first-degree murder. At a bond review Thursday afternoon, the judge deemed him a danger to the community and denied bond.RELATED: Missing pregnant teacher found deadWallen, who went missing last week, was a social studies teacher at Wilde Lake High School. (KGTV) -- National City Police are investigating after a woman was found with stab wounds outside a burning motel room.Police were called to the Roadway Inn Motel on the 600 block of Roosevelt Avenue just before 3 a.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a fire.When officers arrived, one of the motel rooms was engulfed in flames.Several guests tried to extinguish the flames while removing an unconscious woman from the room, police say.Officers found the woman outside the room with multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.No information was released about any suspect or suspects in the incident, but police say an investigation is ongoing.Anyone with information is asked to call the National City Police Department’s Investigation Division at 619-336-4411. 824
