An agency in Colorado that tracks avalanches hiked its danger level to "extreme" for a swath of the state, the highest level on its scale."Do not travel in the backcountry," the Colorado Avalanche Information Center said in a tweet Thursday. A New Jersey man was charged on three criminal counts Tuesday after being accused of coughing on a grocery store clerk and claiming he has coronavirus, the New Jersey Attorney General announced. George Falcone was charged on three counts: Terroristic threats, obstructing administration of law enfocement, and harassment. The most serious charge, terroristic threats, carries a punishment of up to five years, and a ,000 fine. The New Jersey Attorney General said that the incident happened Sunday evening at the Wegmans in Manalapan, New Jersey. The employee was reportedly concerned that Falcone was standing too close to her and an open display of prepared foods, so she requested that he step back as she covered the food. Instead, Falcone allegedly stepped forward to within 3 feet of her, leaned toward her, and purposely coughed, the attorney general's office said. He allegedly laughed and said he was infected with the coronavirus.“These are extremely difficult times in which all of us are called upon to be considerate of each other— not to engage in intimidation and spread fear, as alleged in this case,” said Attorney General Grewal. “We must do everything we can to deter this type of conduct and any similar conduct that harms others during this emergency. An agent with the US Border Patrol in Arizona is accused of sexually assaulting multiple women, the Tucson Police Department said Wednesday.Steven Charles Holmes was placed on administrative duties pending the outcome of the investigation, a US Customs and Border Protection spokesperson said.Holmes, 33, was arrested Tuesday and arraigned on three counts of sexual assault and three counts of aggravated assault, police said.CNN has reached out to the Pima County Attorney's office to determine if Holmes has an attorney.Police said a woman told investigators Holmes sexually assaulted her on a date after meeting him through a dating app. Holmes told her he was a Border Patrol agent, police said.Holmes was on several dating apps, Tucson Police Sgt. A measure of hiring by U.S. companies has fallen to a seven-year low and fewer employers are raising pay, a business survey has found.Just one-fifth of the economists surveyed by the National Association for Business Economics said their companies have hired additional workers in the past three months. That is down from one-third in July. Job totals were unchanged at 69% of companies, up from 57% in July. A broad measure of job gains in the survey fell to its lowest level since October 2012.The hiring slowdown comes as more businesses are reporting slower growth of sales and profits. Business economists also expect the economy’s growth to slow in the coming year, partly because tariffs have raised prices and cut into sales for many firms.“The U.S. economy appears to be slowing, and respondents expect still slower growth over the next 12 months,” said Constance Hunter, NABE president and chief economist at the accounting firm KPMG.Perhaps because of concerns over a weakening economy, businesses are less likely to offer higher pay, even with unemployment at a 50-year low. Just one-third of economists said their firms had lifted pay in the past three months, down from more than half a year ago.Companies are also cutting back on their investments in machinery, computers, and other equipment. The proportion of firms increasing their spending on such goods is at its lowest level in five years, the survey found.Sales are also growing more slowly. Just 39% of economists said they rose in the past three months, down from 61% a year earlier.
