Oceanside’s Flying Pig restaurant had a wait for tables last Friday.On the surface, that sounds like a dream scenario.But owner Roddy Browning says sales just didn't match the demand.“Our capacity is just cut so much, there's just no room for that heavyweight labor when you don't have the capacity,” he said.It's because of social distancing restrictions.Browning recently reopened The Flying Pig and his Vista restaurant - Town Hall Public House - with seating cut in about half.He's working his way back after having to layoff much of his staff when Coronavirus restrictions first took effect. In all Browning had about 60 employees at his two restaurants before COVID.Now, he's hired about 25.He says challenges go beyond the finances.Browning says he and other restaurant owners are having trouble filling jobs in the back of the house.And there have been isolated incidents where people have refused requests to wear masks - taking their money elsewhere.Browning says he wants people to understand why masks are required.As for surviving, Browning says he'll just have to make it work. 1099

Seau, who died in 2012, was well-known in the community even as a high school sports star. "Whenever I'm playing on the football field I want you guys all to know, I represent Oceanside. It all started here,” he once told 10News. Seau’s sister Mary watched her brother shine at USC and eventually, the San Diego Chargers. Seau’s standout NFL career gave him the platform to give back through the Junior Seau Foundation with events like Shop with a Jock. Mary Seau says people approach her with a message about her brother’s generosity. "If it wasn't for Junior, I wouldn't be where I'm at today... and that warms my heart." When Seau took his own life, the pain was overwhelming in Oceanside. "It was a big loss. Not only for our family, but for the whole entire community." Years later, his memory is as strong as ever. "Junior is still with us. He is saying, ‘Get up and go and enjoy life and don't hold back.’” 1216

Olive Garden is bringing back its unlimited "Pasta Pass" promotion, which allows passholders eight weeks of unlimited pasta bowls.The restaurant plans to sell 22,000 passes at 0 each. O, The Oprah Magazine is ending its regular monthly print editions with the December 2020 issue after 20 years of publication. Hearst says the brand is not going away but will become more “more digitally-centric,” with “some form of print." Oprah Winfrey launched O with Hearst in 2000 and today is the editorial director. It is among the country's most recognizable magazines. Hearst declined to answer why they were dropping the regular print edition, saying only it was a “natural next step." One of the stars from Netflix's "Tiger King," Bhagavan "Doc" Antle, was indicted in Virginia for trafficking in wildlife, the attorney general announced Friday.According to a press release, Virginia Attorney General Mark R. Herring said Antle was indicted for illegally selling lion clubs to Wilson's Wild Animal Park after a months-long investigation by Herring's Animal Law Unit.Herring said Antle and Wilson trafficked lion cubs between Virginia and South Carolina, which led to their indictments.Herring said investigators looked into the relationship between Antle and Wilson's Wild Animal Park owner Keith A. Wilson and found that they trafficked lion cubs between Virginia and South Carolina.That investigation led authorities to seize 119 animals, including tigers, bears, and camels in August 2019 from Wilson's "roadside zoo" in Winchester, Virginia.In Nov. 2019, Wilson and his nephew Christian Dall'Acqua were indicted on 46 counts of animal cruelty. Wilson's case has been set for June 21, and Dall'Acqua's trial is set for June 25, 2021.In Dec. 2019, Antle's Myrtle Beach Safari was searched by authorities in South Carolina, Herring said.Two of Antle's daughters, Tawny Antle and Tilakum Watterson, were charged with violating the endangered species act and face misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals. 1327
