FALLBROOK (CNS) - The San Diego County Sheriff's Department Saturday released the name of the man who was shot after he allegedly attacked a deputy with a baseball bat early Friday morning.The Sheriff's Department says a deputy was investigating reports of unprovoked assaults with a bat when he found himself under the same kind of attack from 30-year-old Jesus Cirilo Rodriguez.The deputy was sitting in an unmarked car around 4:30 a.m. Friday in the area of Reche and Ranger roads in Fallbrook when the attack happened, sheriff's Lt. Rich Williams said. Deputies had received three reports of unprovoked baseball bat attacks near the area in the last two days -- one on Wednesday evening and two on Thursday evening -- and were conducting surveillance, Williams said.RELATED: Bat-wielding man shot by sheriff's deputyDuring the surveillance, a man -- suspected to be Rodriguez -- walked up and smashed the window of the deputy's vehicle, shattering glass over the interior and prompting the deputy to open fire in self-defense, Williams said.The deputy shot the suspect multiple times, though the suspect was expected to survive.Rodriguez was being held under guard at a local hospital on suspicion of assault of a peace officer with a deadly weapon while his wounds were being treated, and his bail was set at 0,000. Just ask a family in Fallbrook that’s created a new card game they call, "It's Contagious," featuring a not-so-serious side of dealing with the virus while allowing players to work through their anxiety."Folks will find that the artwork on the cards is really relatable," said mom, Lola Pickett. "And also just like a fun take on this very challenging situation that we’re all in."For Lola, her husband, Tigre, and their two children, the pandemic came very close to home in March when the kids' Grandfather, Rich Pickett, tested positive for COVID-19."His case ended up becoming quite severe, putting him into the ICU," Lola said.Lola says while her father-in-law was in the hospital and the family was quarantined. They coped while at home by spending time together and playing games together. But the stress of the pandemic and its very personal impact was never far off."We noticed our kids were processing things by like adding hand washing stations to their Lego builds," said Lola. "We thought, that’s how we do things as humans. We play through it and figure out how we’re feeling."With that in mind, a project was launched.Dad, Tigre Pickett, says the family found some old poker cards, "Lola took a Sharpie and whiteout and started marking them up. We were like what if we had this card that did this?"Virus cards, spreaders, and antibodies. The headlines and stories of 2020 were becoming the cards of “It’s Contagious!” Like the café in Germany that required patrons to wear pool noodle hats for social distancing."We thought, well, there’s a card. That’s hilarious," said Lola as she and her husband showed off various cards. "So, we have things like that. We have home haircut. We have the t-p shortage which we’re going through again." "Like Zoom birthday parties," Tigre pipes in, as Lola continues, "And then things like antibodies become superheroes. They become a superpower card in the deck just like they do in real life."And the game itself becoming a part of real-life as the Picketts have invested in professional artwork and production in the hope that “It’s contagious,” catches on."We found that play is one of the fastest ways for processing," said Tigre. Facebook and Instagram were both having issues as users reported problems with the social media sites early Tuesday morning. According to downdetector.com,  the East coast is reporting the most problems with Facebook in the United States, but issues are being reported globally as well. This is the second time this month users from all over have reported Facebook being down.Instagram users were also reporting problems, according to downdetector.com.Some of the problems with Facebook included not being able post status updates, the page not loading at all or loading very slow, not being able to send messages over Facebook's separate Messenger app and some saying they received an error message indicating the site was doing maintenance, among other issues.Instagram users reported the app not loading and showing an error message.Some people were able to access Facebook or Instagram, or both, later in the morning and without problems. But critics say there is vague guidance for what happens if there is a school outbreak.As states across the country weigh the risks of reopening schools this fall, the message from the White House has been loud and clear.Last week, President Donald Trump stated he would like schools to reopen, stating, “Yeah, I would like to see the schools opened, open 100 percent.”Most doctors, educators, and psychologists agree that going back to school would be in the best interest of students. But what happens if just one student contracts the coronavirus? Would that force a shutdown?Some health experts are wary.“Once you start getting into dozens, or even more kids and teachers starting to get infected, it's going to be very hard to keep that school open, said Dr. Ashish Jha, a professor of medicine and the director of Harvard University’s Global Health Institute.“We have to have really smart planning and we have to have a clear protocol for how to identify kids and teachers and staff who get infected and then know what to do when we identify them. I just haven't seen that kind of clear protocol yet.”Late last week, the CDC did issue new guidelines for school reopening. (KGTV) - Día de los Muertos came alive Friday night at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido.Dozens of families came to build memorial altars known as “ofrendas.” While many honored ancestors, the Fallbrook Youth Advocacy Coalition along with the North Inland Community Prevention Program came to honor those taken too soon. “We just want to prevent more families from having this event or having an experience of losing a loved one,” said Pastor Anger Medrano from Victory Outreach Church. The groups were raising awareness of teen drug and alcohol use which can have tragic consequences. Veronica Hernandez with Fallbrook Youth Advocacy Coalition said her daughter lost a friend this summer after she was hit by a DUI driver. “She was only 15 years old.
