Republican Kim Davis, the Kentucky court clerk who became a conservative Christian heroine for refusing to sign same-sex marriage certificates three years ago, lost her re-election bid Tuesday, according to unofficial results posted by the Kentucky State Board of Elections.Democrat Elwood Caudill Jr. appeared to defeat Davis by more than 650 votes in the race for clerk in Rowan County, according to the unofficial results, with all precincts reporting. (KGTV) — Two people were killed in a motorcycle crash east of Ramona on Sunday.The collision happened on Littlepage Road and Old Julian Highway, in the Witch Creek area, just after 2 p.m. between a motorcycle and off-road side-by-side utility task vehicle, often called a UTV, according to CAL FIRE San Diego.The two people riding on the motorcycle were pronounced dead at the scene. President Donald Trump was removed from his evening coronavirus news conference on Monday after a shooting took place outside of the White House complex, Trump confirmed to reporters. Minutes into his briefing, Trump was told to leave his briefing by a Secret Service agent. Trump said he was not taken to the bunker, and just stepped outside of the briefing room.Trump said that a suspect was shot by law enforcement outside of the White House. Trump complimented authorities for handling the incident. The Secret Service confirmed an officer-involved shooting at 17th Street and Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington. The intersection is roughly one block from the White House, and not far from the West Wing section of the White House, where the White House briefing room is located.The Secret Service said that a male subject and a Secret Service officer were both transported to a local hospital. "At no time during this incident was the White House complex breached or were any protectees in danger," the Secret Service said.The Secret Service issued a statement late Monday indicating that a 51-year-old man told Secret Service officers he had a weapon. 1163

President Donald Trump suggested during an interview on Wednesday that he will accept the presidential nomination of the Republican party in a live address from the White House later this month.During an interview on Fox News, Trump told anchors that his administration is still weighing its options, but that he's currently leaning toward an option that would have him deliver the speech "live from the White House lawn," calling it the "easiest and least expensive option."Trump also suggested Wednesday that the press would be allowed to attend parts of the convention that will be taking place in Charlotte. President Donald Trump told special counsel Robert Mueller in writing that Roger Stone did not tell him about WikiLeaks, nor was he told about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting between his son, campaign officials and a Russian lawyer promising dirt on Hillary Clinton, according to two sources familiar with the matter.One source described the President's answers without providing any direct quotes and said the President made clear he was answering to the best of his recollection.This is the first insight into how the President responded to the Mueller team's written questions -- a key unknown as Mueller aims to wrap up his investigation and prepare his final report.These two points -- WikiLeaks and the Trump Tower meeting -- are critical to Mueller's central mission: investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russians during the 2016 campaign.The President's lawyers previously told CNN the answers would match his public statements. Still, these written answers could be subject to criminal charges if false.A spokesman for the special counsel declined to comment. CNN did not get a full readout of all of the President's answers to Mueller's questions.According to many lawyers who have experience in cases such as this, adding the caveat that he has no recollection, as the President apparently did with these written answers to Mueller, is standard procedure as a way to try to shield a client should their recollections be challenged."It's well-documented how frequently he says or tweets false things, and there's no criminal exposure for that," said CNN legal analyst Carrie Cordero.
