(KGTV) -- Bay Area authorities are investigating the shooting death of one security officer and injuries to another after they were gunned down amid fiery protests in Oakland late Friday night.The shooting happened outside the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, a few blocks from where thousands of demonstrators where gathered.A statement from the FBI sent to Bay Area media said that at about 9:45 p.m., a vehicle approached the federal building and a gunman inside the car fired at the officers. The security officers are contracted by the Federal Protective Service of the Department of Homeland Security.The Mercury News reported that the Oakland Police Department said the shooting “is unrelated to tonight’s demonstration.”It’s unknown if police have any suspects in custody.FBI San Francisco and Oakland Police Department continue to investigate the shooting, KRON news reported.The incident happened as large groups of demonstrators clashed with police in downtown Oakland to protest the death of George Floyd. Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died after Derek Chauvin, a Minneapolis police officer, knelt on his neck until he passed out.ABC 7 News in San Francisco is reporting that 60 suspected looters were detained for further investigation and 18 people were arrested by Oakland police. (KGTV) — A bill that aims to end the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in California is heading to the state Senate.Assembly Bill 2152, known as "Bella’s Act," would prohibit the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits, but still allow stores to partner with rescues and shelters for adoption events. The bill also stops pet stores from receiving any money from adoption transactions or from using the store or its resources in connection with adoption events.Assemblymember Todd Gloria, who introduced Bella's Act in February, said the bill is meant to crack down on those who got around the first attempt by the state."When we have animals in California who are still being bred and raised in unhealthy and inhumane conditions for profit, we cannot turn a blind eye," Gloria said in a release earlier this year. "Bella’s Act will fulfill our promise to end the inhumane puppy mill industry by officially prohibiting the retail sale of dogs, cats, and rabbits in California and encouraging pet retailers to partner with rescue groups and shelters. (CNN) -- President Donald Trump on Thursday evening claimed that energy efficient light bulbs make him look orange, one in a series of bizarre claims about green energy and climate conservation in remarks to Republican House members in Baltimore."What's with the lightbulb?" Trump asked introducing one of several environmentally related rants in his more than hour-long remarks. He described energy efficient light bulbs as "many times more expensive than that old, incandescent bulb that worked very well" and "the lights no good.""The bulb that we're being forced to use, number one, to me, most importantly, I always look orange," he said, to laughs from the audience.Light bulbs have been a common target for the President who has used them as a symbol to criticize energy and environmental restrictions.Federal regulators in the Trump administration lifted energy efficiency regulations earlier this month for several common types of light bulbs, which critics believe is the administration's latest assault on efforts to combat climate change and energy use. The administration said the overturned rules, crafted in the final days of the Obama administration and which were set to take effect in January, would cause prices for light bulbs to skyrocket to untenable levels.Trump also railed against the Paris Climate Accords, which he decided the US would pull out of early in his administration."How's that working out for Paris?" Trump asked, pointing to Yellow Vest protesters in France. Trump said the protesters "didn't like all of that money being sent to people that they'd never heard of the country which they came." He said "today we have the cleanest air. He appeared to be referencing new auto industry standards he said would soon be released by the Trump administration.Trump took to criticizing Democrats' stance on several environmental issues, becoming frustrated with recent efforts to reduce plastic and reiterating his repeated claims about the Green New Deal."Then they talk about plastic straws. I said, 'What about the plate? What about the wrapper that's made up of a tougher plastic? What about all the other plastic?'," Trump said, adding that straws are "the only thing we're worried about" now.He later told Republicans, "We won't let Democrats obliterate the plastic industry and cripple working class families with sky-high energy prices."He also claimed that the Green New Deal would mean "no more cows. The kennel uses the same technology found in vehicles and headphones in order to protect dogs' sensitive ears from fireworks that could cause them to panic.Here's how it works: Microphones inside the kennel detect the sound of a firework and then omit an opposing frequency to cancel out the noise or reduce it almost entirely. The walls of the kennel are designed using high-density cork in order to add another degree of silence.The result is a futuristic-looking kennel that keeps canines content amid the "booms" and "crackles" of fireworks:The prototype was inspired by some of the cabin technology Ford employs in its own vehicle designs.“We wondered how the technologies we use in our cars could be applied to help in other situations.
