TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KGTV) -- Three Cal Fire firefighters based in San Diego were injured after the engine they were riding in flipped over, ABC30 reports. The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. near Avenue 56 and Road 250 in rural Tulare County, the station reports. The driver of the engine reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to flip over and injuring four firefighters. Three firefighters were injured and taken to the hospital following the rollover. Cal Fire says two of the firefighters have since been released while the third will remain in the hospital overnight for observation. The crew is based in San Diego and were heading home from battling the Creek Fire when the crash took place. 719

Two pilots on different aircraft recently reported seeing unidentified flying objects in the airspace near them.A commercial pilot for American Airlines, who was flying a passenger jet Feb. 24 over Arizona, reported to Albuquerque Center air traffic control between 3:30 and 4:15 p.m. local time that an object seen?flying at 40,000 feet was unidentifiable and had a big reflection, according to The Huffington Post. Audio of the conversation between the pilot and?air traffic control was released by the Federal Aviation Administration to a website called The Drive, a product of Time Inc. Two new fissures opened on Hawaii's Big Island, spewing lava and fueling fears of violent explosions more than a week after the Kilauea volcano erupted.Nearly 2,000 people have been evacuated since the Kilauea volcano erupted May 3, sending lava flowing into communities and threatening a nearby geothermal plant.The 17th fissure, a crack on the ground through which lava pours out, was reported Saturday night, the US Geological Survey's Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said."Lava from this latest outbreak is actively spattering," it said.The volcanic vents, or fissures, have released slow-moving lava and toxic gas into island communities, gobbling up dozens of homes and vehicles.Another fissure, the 16th one, was reported earlier Saturday and "produced a lava flow that traveled about 250 yards before stalling," officials said.That vent was about a mile east of the Puna Geothermal Venture plant, where officials removed 60,000 gallons of flammable liquids due to safety concerns.In addition to the new fissures, USGS officials said an explosive eruption is possible at Halemaumau crater at the top of the Kilauea volcano.
