VIENTIANE, April 23 (Xinhua) -- General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and Lao President Bounnhang Vorachit pledged on Saturday to further develop bilateral relations with China.
Liu Shangxi, head of the Research Institute for Fiscal Science under China's Ministry of Finance, said the VAT helps create a fairer market for business.
The relationship between China and Myanmar is also "standing at a new starting point," the Chinese foreign minister said, adding that China stands ready to join hands with the new Myanmar government to carry forward the traditional China-Myanmar friendship, deepen political mutual trust and expand the mutually beneficial cooperation so as to "open up a new chapter" for bilateral relations.
"They (companies) are at home wherever they have employees, customers or partners,"she stressed.
Regarding maritime delimitation, it falls within the scope of the declaration filed by China in 2006, which excludes disputes concerning maritime delimitation from compulsory arbitration and other compulsory dispute settlement procedures, he said.
