One major point of contention often involves the use of marijuana in the home."If I want to smoke a lot of weed I don’t think that’s an issue," said Damion Green.Finding roommates with his mentality hasn't been easy for Green."I’ve been through hell with people. People who insist you smoke outside, people that freak out about paraphernalia sitting around," Green says of his issues with prior roommates.That's why Angeliki Gousetis created 420 Friendly Apartments — a Facebook group connecting fellow marijuana smokers who are looking for roommates with similar interests.The group doesn't find a place to rent. Dan Garfield, an attorney who specializes in cannabis law, says "it’s just as difficult to find a weed-friendly landlord as it is to find a tobacco-friendly landlord." And if you do find one, Garfield says, Be prepared to pay a larger security deposit.""There’s no worry that I’m a professional and because I’m in finance, I can’t be 420-friendly, so if, God forbid, somebody sees me, I have to hide myself. There’s no hiding. Just be yourself," said Gousetis, a New York realtor.She started the same group in New York before creating one in Denver over the summer. More than 3,000 people have already joined, including Green, who posted to the group he was in need of a place to live. He says within a matter of days, he found his new roommates.Gousetis says she's helped connect people in 25 states. She calls them bud-mates. The group is free to use. DELAFIELD, Wis. — A suspect accused of shooting two police officers in Delafield early Friday has been taken into custody, police say.Police said they had not conclusively concluded the identity of the suspect, but he appeared to match the description of Nathanael Benton, 23.Earlier Friday, police said a suspect, identified as Benton, was still at large and considered armed and dangerous. Police say he is also wanted for an incident in North Dakota.Two officers were shot just after 1:30 a.m. Friday in Delafield, police said.Residents in Delafield were being asked to avoid the area of Highway 83 and Golf Road.Delafield police said two officers, one from Delafield police and the other from Hartland police, were responding to a call for service regarding a hit-and-run crash at the Holiday Inn Express and shots were exchanged between the suspect and the officers. The officers were injured.The injured officers were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Fargo Police Department have been searching for Benton since Nov. 1 in relation to another incident. DENVER – Colorado has joined a lawsuit involving 18 states, several cities and counties and the U.S. Conference of Mayors aiming to block the Trump administration from putting a citizenship question on the 2020 U.S. Census.But the state is doing so without the representation of its attorney general’s office and will have the governor’s chief legal counsel, Jacqueline Cooper Melmed, represent the state in the proceedings.Gov. John Hickenlooper’s office signed on to the first amended complaint in the lawsuit on Monday. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and a host of other states originally filed the lawsuit last month in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.Hickenlooper, a Democrat, broke with Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman, a Republican, in filing the suit.Coffman in early April announced that she and the attorneys general for Oklahoma and Louisiana supported the new citizenship question, saying that U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross was “within his authority to find that the need for accurate citizenship information outweighed the fears of a lower response rate.”But in joining the suit, the governor’s office argued otherwise.“We have a responsibility to Colorado to see that every person is counted,” Hickenlooper said in a statement. “Our action seeks to ensure the census is being used for its intended purpose under the Constitution. DANBURY, Conn. (AP) - It's official. It's now the John Oliver Memorial Sewer Plant in Danbury, Connecticut. The City Council voted 18-1 Thursday night to rename the plant after the comedian, who began a tongue-in-cheek battle with Danbury when he went on an expletive-filled rant against the city on HBO's "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" in August. In the August 16 episode, Oliver named off three things he knew about the time, one of which was a "standing invite to come to get a thrashing from John Oliver."Mayor Mark Boughton responded by saying the city was going to rename the plant after Oliver because Oliver was full of the stuff the plant processes. DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. — A mother was arrested in Ohio for allegedly creating child pornography of her own 3-year-old daughter, the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office announced on Tuesday.Kayla Parker, 26, of Dayton, Ohio, was charged with felonies including the sexual abuse and exploitation of children, endangering the welfare of a child and indecent assault.According to the office of Attorney General Josh Shapiro, Parker lived with her ex-boyfriend, David Carbonaro approximately four years ago. During that time, Parker committed inappropriate sexual acts with her daughter, the 3-year-old victim, including the creation of child pornography.“This is an egregious case – a mother who preyed upon and sexually abused her own three-year-old daughter,” Attorney General Josh Shapiro said.When investigators executed a search warrant at Carbonaro’s residence in July, they reportedly found hundreds of images and several video files of a 3-year-old girl in various stages of undress. At least one file depicted an adult female’s hand reaching inside the victim’s underwear.Carbonaro identified the victim and her mother to agents.According to a probable cause affidavit, Parker told investigators that, "Carbonaro would watch her abusing the victim and often masturbate during the act."During that same interview, Parker allegedly told investigators that, on numerous occasions during the time she lived with Carbonaro, she undressed and escorted her 3-year-old daughter to a bedroom, shut the door and left her alone with Carbonaro. Carbonaro was arrested in July, following the raid at his residence. He is currently awaiting trial in Delaware County for the possession, production and distribution of child pornography.Parker was recently arrested in Ohio and was extradited to Pennsylvania, where bail was set at million, pending a preliminary hearing on October 26. 1926
