NEW YORK, N.Y. - Walking around the city is a learning experience.Two life-long friends have written a book about their travels and discoveries on the streets of Manhattan.Lori Zimmer started writing and walking about a decade ago after losing her job.“I never had the time. Now I was taking note,” Zimmer said.“Art Hiding in New York” was born when she visited Maria Krasinski, who illustrated the book. NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump's son Eric is willing to comply with a subpoena to testify in a New York investigation into the family's businesses, but only after the November election. Trump lawyers argued in a Thursday court filing that Eric Trump's "extreme travel schedule" related to his father's re-election campaign prevented earlier testifying in Attorney General Letitia James' civil probe. They said they also want "to avoid the use of his deposition attendance for political purposes." According to NBC News, James issued a statement on Thursday saying that "no one is above the law."A message seeking comment was left with James' office. James, a Democrat, went to court last month to compel Eric Trump and other business associates to testify and turn over documents as part of an investigation into whether Trump's company lied about asset values in order to get loans or tax benefits.Trump agreed to testify in July, but backed out two days prior, NBC News reported. 997
NOBLESVILLE, Indiana — Concertgoers at a Rascal Flatts concert in Indiana on Thursday night were left wondering what happened after the event ended abruptly.Due to a "security concern," everybody in the band had to leave the Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center, according to a Facebook post from Rascal Flatts."The safety of our fans, band and crew is always the top priority for us, so we are so thankful for everyone who jumped into action and for your understanding," the post reads. Caitlyn Conlon had front-row tickets for the concert. She said at the beginning of the concert, everyone felt safe, and one of the band members said to the crowd, "With everything going on in the world today, we are Americans first before anything else. We are all one and just forget everything going on and let’s all become one tonight.”Later in the concert, the keyboard player started to play another song, then abruptly stopped, she said. Conlon said they were told by security that they had to leave right away. She said there was a lot of speculation about what exactly happened, and that the band didn't get a chance to play its biggest songs. New mandates for stores, cities and regions require many of us to wear masks in public, but researchers say it's important to treat them like a biohazard.Professor and Department Chair of Community, Environment and Policy at the University of Arizona Public Health College Kelly Reynolds said, while in public, the virus can get on the front of the mask and live on it for several days."By design, the mask could really be contaminated, so we recommend that people think of their masks as a biohazard," Reynolds said.The virus can live on surgical and N95 masks for up to seven days. Normally, they would be thrown out after one use, but a shortage in Personal Protective Equipment prevents that."You can’t just throw them in the washer machine -- that would destroy their fibers," Reynolds said. "For those (N95 and surgical), the best recommendation is to let the natural course of the virus dying off to run its course, so the recommendation is to take those masks and put them in a paper bag and wait seven days before you use them again."More commonly though, she said people in the community are wearing homemade, cloth masks, which can hold the virus for two days.She said one advantage in Arizona to clean those is the summer heat, which means leaving it in a car for at least 20 minutes."When it is 110 outside, in no time our cars will get really hot, so the coronavirus can survive in our cars for 20 minutes in up to 130 degrees and five minutes at 150 degrees, so that can be a very effective tool for decontaminating our masks," Reynolds said.She recommends removing the masks from the elastic around the ears using your pinkies. She said this is because those are the fingers you're least likely to use touching your face.After that, make sure to put it in a central location and sanitize or wash your hands."If you think about why we are wearing the mask in the first place, it is to prevent our exposure," Reynolds said.
