EL CENTRO, Calif. (KGTV) -- The four Marines who died in a Marine Corps helicopter crash during a training mission in El Centro Tuesday have been identified.Military officials say Capt. Samuel A. Schultz, 28, of Huntington Valley, Pennsylvania; First Lt. Samuel D. Phillips, 27, of Pinehurst, North Carolina; Gunnery Sgt. Derik Holley, 33, of Dayton, Ohio; and Lance Cpl. Taylor J. During Frontier flight 1397 from Cleveland to Tampa this afternoon, six passengers became ill. The aircraft was met by local emergency medical services upon arrival in Tampa. Those passengers displaying symptoms were evaluated by medical staff before being released. All other passengers were released after a brief holding period. DOWNTOWN (CNS) - A man was stabbed Sunday in downtown San Diego, police said.At around 2:20 p.m., two men became involved in a physical altercation near the intersection of C Street and Seventh Avenue, and one stabbed the other twice in the stomach, San Diego Police Officer Dino Delimitros said.The victim, who was in his 50s, suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Delimitros said.The suspect is described as a man wearing black pants, and he remains at large. 497

(KGTV) - A day after a massive fire broke out in an East County recycling plant, smoke was seen billowing from a building just a freeway exit away Thursday.San Diego firefighters responded to the site at about 12:30 p.m. Smoke could be seen pouring from a building in the 100 block of Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon. The site is that of the city's former police station, that has since sat abandoned.It's not clear if there were active flames inside the building, but footage from Sky10 showed thick smoke coming from the building.San Diego Police officers were also seen nearby with three individuals sitting on the ground. Police have not confirmed if anyone was in custody or being questioned.The site was approved for redevelopment last year, with plans to build a hotel and retail stores on the site.Wednesday, a metal recycling facility burst into flames, sending black smoke into the air. (KGTV) - 10News got to ride along with the CHP Thursday in the middle of “Distracted driving awareness month.”Despite new laws, crashes attributed to distracted driving went up between 2013 and 2015 by nearly 12 percent.“It’s been a law for so long now, there’s not many people that don’t know you’re not supposed to have your cell phone in your hands,” said Officer Travis Garrow.But he said people who he pulls over are often confused if they had been using their phone at a red light. That is still illegal he says.“Our message is just to put the phones away, just turn them off.
