More than 100 law enforcement agencies have withdrawn from helping the Milwaukee Police Department at the Democratic National Convention, three weeks before the big event. According to the police chief, the agencies cited concerns over potential new policies related to crowd control.The Milwaukee Police Department requested the help of more than 1,000 officers from other law enforcement departments for security at the Democratic National Convention. Even though the event will be scaled-down at the Wisconsin Center due to the COVID-19 pandemic, losing many of these officers will make things more complex for Milwaukee police.Chief Alfonso Morales now has to deal with a new task with only three weeks until the DNC.He could not reveal the number of officers he’s lost for security reasons but says the reason agencies pulled out of the convention has to do with the Fire and Police Commission directives given to him last week related to crowd control. Specifically, they’re concerned over the directive to discontinue the use of tear gas and large amounts of pepper spray.“When you rule an unlawful assembly to help break up that crowd, once we deem them unruly, that’s a safe manner in doing so. Not having those tools increases the potential for more violence,” Morales said. “That’s a big concern for the law enforcement community within Milwaukee and outside of Milwaukee.”This is how the departments in West Allis, Fond du Lac and Franklin feel. NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) -- A lawsuit was filed Wednesday against National City over the death of a man who died in police custody. The lawsuit, filed by the family of Earl McNeil, names National City as well as several officers and deputies. McNeil showed up at the National City Police Department in 2018 seeking help. RELATED: No criminal charges to be filed in National City Police custody death of Earl McNeilPolice say he made threats and admitted he had drugs. McNeil died in jail from a heart attack. According to the medical examiner, McNeil had high levels of methamphetamine in his system when he died. The lawsuit claims officers used excessive force and failed to give him proper medical care. MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Police District 2 officers were heartbroken to find a dog abandoned for several days in a cold pickup truck.Scripps station WTMJ in Milwaukee crews were there just in time to see the rescue as police broke into the truck at 17th and National Avenue.Parking tickets on the windshield show it had been there since Saturday. As of Tuesday morning, the car still remains at that location.There was no food or water inside, but the seats were soiled with feces.Despite all of this, the dog seemed to be in good spirits.Offices took it to the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission, better known as MADACC.Doctor Libby Gutting checked him out. She tells us you should call police if you see a dog alone in a vehicle for more than an hour."An animal could suffer from hypothermia or even pass away from that so we definitely don't want to leave animals outside in any sort of condition especially for a car that's not running," said Dr. Gutting, Medical Director of MADACC.Dr. Gutting said the pitbull is in great shape.If his owner does not come in to claim him in five days, he could go up for adoption."Our concern is that this person has an issue with the way they need to care for their pet which means they need help," said Dr. Gutting.The captain with Milwaukee Police District 2 told WTMJ the owner, in this case, could face an animal cruelty charge.  1419

NBC has answered the 9-1-1 call sent out by "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" fans.The network late on Friday announced it has rescued the comedy series from an untimely death, one day after the show was canceled by Fox.The series received a 13-episode sixth season order from NBC."Ever since we sold this show to Fox I've regretted letting it get away, and it's high time it came back to its rightful home," said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment.He added: "We're all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up."Viewers of the cult comedy were vocal about their displeasure following news of the show's axing.
