The fine scale of the images highlights small outcrops of bright and dark material.With these new discoveries, scientists believe that studying Vesta can help decode the early history of the solar system.Dawn will maintain its low-altitude orbit for another 10 weeks before moving to a higher orbit for another round of photo-taking.Launched in 2007, the 446 million U.S. dollar project aims at studying the chemical composition of Vesta's surface and probing its interior structure.Dawn will leave Vesta in July next year and arrive at the dwarf planet Ceres in February 2015.

Ltd. will sell 1.96 billion shares at 4.46 yuan apiece to select investors, it said. But CSR's parent -- state-owned CSR Group -- has agreed to buy no less than 6 billion yuan's worth of the shares, leaving the rest to institutional investors.CSR's net profit growth in the third quarter of 2011 plunged to 9.66 percent year-on-year from a high of 85.08 percent in the first half of 2011 as the country put the brakes on development of the railway sector after a deadly bullet train crash on July 23 that killed 40 people and injured 210 others.The decision to slow the development of high-speed rail lines has led to halts in construction of about 90 percent of ongoing railway projects, or 10,000 km of rail lines across the country, local media reported earlier.CSR is the maker of the bullet trains involved in last July's deadly collision. NEW DELHI, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Suspected encephalitis has killed over 100 children in the northern Indian state of Bihar since June, reported local media Saturday.At least 51 children in Bihar's Gaya district died of the epidemic in the last seven weeks, in the wake of the death of 55 children in a similar outbreak of the brain disease in another district of the state earlier, reported Indo-Asian News Service.Most of the children belong to a caste known for its absolute poverty.According to district health officials, all children have died at Anugrah Narain Medical College and Hospital in Gaya, about 100 km from the state capital Patna.The children reported high fever, followed by bouts of unconsciousness and convulsions.So far, more than 220 children with suspected encephalitis were admitted for treatment, with over two dozens of the children still battling for life, according to the report.Earlier, Indian Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said clinical and epidemiological data suggested that there was an outbreak of acute encephalitis syndrome, resulting in 150 cases and 55 deaths, mostly among children, from early June to mid-July in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar.

BEIJING, Nov. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- The amount of trans fat and other nutritional information will be marked on the labels of prepackaged food, according to the country's first national standard for food nutrition. The labeling will take effect on Jan 1, 2013. "It will help standardize the nutrition facts labeling by food producers and facilitate consumers' rights to know and choose, while improving public awareness of food nutrition," said Yang Yuexin, a senior nutritionist with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The new regulation by the Ministry of Health stipulates that food labels have to include the food's nutrition information, including levels of energy, protein, fat, carbohydrate and sodium. Food products without proper labels showing the nutritional information will be banned when the new rule takes effect. The new regulation also stipulates that if any hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fat is used to produce the food, the level of trans fat will have to be highlighted on the nutrition information label. Trans fat is usually produced during food processing when liquid oils are converted into semi-solid fats that help keep food fresh longer. However, the partially hydrogenated oil contains trans fat that can substantially increase the risk of heart disease. However, Zhang Jian, a researcher with CDC's National Institute for Nutrition and Food Safety, said that compared to Western diets, the Chinese diet contains a far lower level of trans fat and there is no need to over react.
