The Aztecs are 15-0 to start the season, making them one of just two undefeated teams remaining in Division One. The other team is Auburn. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police said a man who was trying to sell basketball tickets Friday robbed a victim near San Diego State University as the NCAA basketball tournament was underway.The robbery happened about 11 a.m. in the east alley of 5100 College Ave., police said. The location is behind the ARCO gas station at the corner of Montezuma Rd.Officers said the suspect stole the victim’s money and may have been carrying a small knife. The victim was not hurt.The suspect ran toward the Aztec Student Union and was last seen near Campanile Drive.Police said the suspect is a black man in his late teens, about six-feet tall and 120 pounds. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego State University is suspending spring 2020 programs to Italy amid the spread of the novel coronavirus. The university said in an update to students Monday that it was calling all students studying abroad in Italy back to the United States. The decision was made due to the elevated level three travel advisories the CDC and State Department issued for the country. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Unified School District turned off drinking water at three schools Friday after test results showed elevated levels of lead.In a letter to parents, the district said lead levels above the district's 5 parts per billion (ppb) standard were discovered in fountains at Encanto and Birney Elementary schools. The fountains had also recently received new lead filters to address lead in drinking water.It's not clear how many fountains at the two schools tested above the 5 ppb limit. 516

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Starting Sunday night and going until May 30, construction crews will close either northbound or southbound lanes of I-5 overnight to begin construction of the Mid-Coast Trolley.Drivers will see heavy equipment and machinery on the freeway, and residents can expect to hear loud construction noise during the closures.The project will start with a large support column for the trolley bridge in the freeway center divider.The trolley is being built to extend the Blue Line eleven miles north from the Old Town Transit Center to University City, running through Mission Bay Park, the VA Medical Center, UC San Diego and Westfield University Town Center Mall.The Mid-Coast Trolley is expected to start running in fall 2021. 748
