TOKYO, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao described Tuesday his visit to Japan as successful, saying it has deepened trust, enhanced cooperation and consolidated the foundation for friendship between the two countries.In an interview with Japanese public broadcaster NHK, the Chinese premier called his visit to Japan "a journey of confidence and hope."Wen said he has achieved the visit's objectives of deepening mutual trust, enhancing cooperation and consolidating the foundation for friendship. "The visit is successful," he said.Important agreements were reached at his talks with Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, including re-establishing a hot line between the heads of the two governments, creating a maritime communication mechanism between the two defense departments and speeding up the establishment of a maritime rescue agreement, Wen said.The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral economic and trade cooperation, and identified green economy, energy and environmental protection and e-commerce as priority areas for cooperation, he said."Cooperation between China and Japan enjoys broad prospects," said Wen.The Chinese premier also called for promoting bilateral cultural and people-to-people exchanges, saying these exchanges are fundamental to the friendship between the two countries.After concluding a three-day visit to Japan earlier Tuesday, Wen is now in Mongolia for a two-day official visit.

NANCHANG, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ministry of Commerce released regulations concerning foreign investment in China's central region here Thursday.The region - which includes the provinces of Shanxi, Anhui, Jiangxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan - should attract high-end green industry with policy incentives and guidance, the regulations say.It should give priority to manufacturing while eyeing investment in other sectors like agriculture, sophisticated processing industries, trade, finance, education, culture, tourism and leasing.The region should nurture business-friendly policies and slash transaction costs to attract businesses considering moving inland from the coastal regions.The rules call for rectifying any practices that disrupt business operation, including authorities' arbitrary law enforcement.The rules also urged a market-oriented administration system consistent with international rules.The ministry also pledged to establish state-level industrial transfer demonstration zones and to improve provincial industrial parks.

  

JEJU, South Korea, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Leaders of China, Japan and South Korea on Saturday issued a document outlining a blueprint for cooperation within the coming 10 years.Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, South Korean President Lee Myung-bak and Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, who are meeting in South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju for an annual trilateral summit, made joint pledges to further trilateral cooperation in such areas as economy, security, environmental protection and cultural exchange.The leaders of the three nations agreed that after making clear the detailed objectives and long-term goals within the next decade, all sides need to concentrate efforts on boosting trilateral cooperation to a new height, so as to further consolidate partnership, achieve more in mutually beneficial cooperation in all aspects and enhance friendship between the peoples of the three countries.Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao (R), South Korean President Lee Myung-bak (C) and Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama shakes hands before the third trilateral summit in South Korea's southern resort island of Jeju on May 29, 2010.
